Some points:

#1 Psoriasis is a recognised autoimmune disease this means you have a weaker system and being open to dirty standing water and rubbish could possibly result in an infection, that would not be good for you.

#2 Psoriasis can and does often make a patient fatigued, so to call a person with psoriasis lazy is not on.

#3 Psoriasis is often caused by streptococcal throat infection, including upper respiratory infections. So breathing in dust without a mask is not advisable.

It's not looking a good environment for a person with psoriasis in my opinion.

Not trying to put you off and good on ya if you keep going, but the above could be useful information. Wink

That is indeed helpful information, i'm due to see someone tomorrow and I had asked her yesterday to change me to something else. I just thought well its an hour i wont rock the boat so to speak. I've never been bothered about hard work, if something needs to be done then i'll do it, take my avatar on here for example. Thats an Original Bav so to speak, my best friend loves dr who so i made it for her for her birthday, it took me almost 2 days to complete and the only time i stopped pretty much was to sleep.

I've spoken to a few people and a few government departments and they have all agreed I shouldn't have gone to this place in the first place.

Hi Bav,

I cannot do more for you than reading your experiences during this stupid assignment you got. I understand you will have to do it simply because of the money. But I agree with the others that it cannot be good for your health.

One thing you at least should do is gather the evidence that working in that situation with psoriasis is not advisable.
You can also try to search the Internet on the claiming possibilities that must be there if you get an infection because of the work you have to do.. It is better to prevent, but just in case it is good to know the actions you can do if something goes wrong.

Hope you can keep up.

Caroline

In addition to carolines comments, get names of people who are ordering you to do unsuitable work, write a letter to the person who gave you the placement. Telling him your concerns and tell him you are happy to do any reasonable work, but you have taken advice and that says that the work is unsuitable for a psoriasis sufferer. Could he put in writing to you what you are expected to do.. So if things get bad health wise you would have evidence. Tell them in your letter that you understand the idea of the placement system, but it should not be to the detriment of your health and you will turn your hand to anything reasonable, and will do this placement providing they will put in writing that it is not going to harm your health
Just another idea

I have a appointment at the job centre tomorrow, so i'll be hoping that my advisor is able to do anything, i know she tried to contact the company direct yesterday but the person she needed to talk to was unavailable or hiding, eating doughnuts or didn't want to talk to her. If I'm forced to go back i'll definitely be carrying out both of your suggestions.

Here's something that'll make you facepalm.. on the way out the door this afternoon this manager guy said.. "just so you're all aware, we will be wanting the gloves vest and boots back so we can pass them onto the next lot we get in, that goes for everyone with no exceptions"... he obviously never saw the state of my hands after an hour of picking crap up...

On a side note I've just tried to book a docs appointment, but due to the unique way they are overbooked There's nothing for mine closer than the 29th April. I'm also thinking of getting my knee's looked at, last couple of months they've been aching like a.. well pair of knee's that have been really painful.. thought it was just the cold weather, but today since its been warm same deal. so it wasn't the cold weather hehehe

Good luck tomorrow I hope they see sense and give you an appropriate placement
.
Re doctors appointments if you tell them it's urgent they usually get you in the same day ( ours keep a few clear for urgent cases) lie a bit they will see you probably

Although it sounds like you don't have much choice at the moment but to go there and work, just have to say... what a jerk that guy sounds like!! He probably knows nothing about psoriasis and it would have been nice for him to ask you questions about it. He's only able to go on the assumption that you are able to work there since you were sent there so I'd give him a pass on not being able to judge on the first day what you can and cannot do, but as a supervisor/manager type he should have better people skills! Hopefully your next day will be better.

And yes, get to a dermatologist and see what he or she has to say. Be sure to mention stress if you are feeling stressed out working for this guy.

hi, Bav

def appeal , you can also self cirtificate for 2wks
ask you GP to run/do blood tests help speed up diag on the knees prob
as you prob now there quite a few linked autoimmune probs can  go hand in hand with p

i always ask what medical qualfications the person has  i am talking to down the JC /dwp etc
a lot of them do a 2hr in house training course , and think they know better than the consultants/GP

i receive esa/dla for my p/ppp alone , got a review coming up soon

best to get face to face advice from CAB etc
worth a read/search Rightsnet

mrs went for her assesment at the local council  for a blue badge last wk
2 hrs later she came out, saying they/he thinks she get 1
asked her what medical qualifications did the asseror have     she  replied none
they had GP&consultants statements, mrs is waiting for 2hips/2knees
2hrs of repeated questions by a none medical person not even offered a class of water or asked if diabetic etc,
i/we dont even get that long with a medical consultant or GP

ps can we have spell check

Hello Dave there isn't one available for the software, most people have their own built in to their computer or browser these days.

What browser do you use as there is probably an add on available.
