xmas party = Nothing to wear because skin is so bad :( Any tips?

So, it's xmas time coming up and I've just started a new job ish (4 months) when I am at work I wear jeans and a jumper so no one sees my skin. This is good but the xmas party is coming up and because no one has seen any of me I have no idea what to wear out. I know this might sound silly but does anyone know if I can just put a lil make up on my arms? It wouldnt only be for a few hours. I've gone threw my life not showing my legs (even in the summer time) so as annoying as it still is it's okay and I can always wear tights. My arms have been fine all my life really. I don't wanna think too much about it coz I will stress and that's obviously not what I want to do but I get so sad not even being able to go and shop for something nice to wear out. Sorry if this sounds lame but no one else understands

I know how hard it must be for you to find something that you feel comfortable wearing that won't show off your patches too badly.  It's not something I really struggle with but I have friends with Eczema and Psoriasis who never uncover their patchy areas.  

One of my good friends swears by skin camouflage, I have seen her with it on and her psoriasis is a lot less noticeable.  Have a look at their website, it may have some tips and ideas for you.

I know how you feel but don't be too glum as there are easy solutions.
First of all get chatting to the other girls to find out what they are wearing - it might be party dresses, tunics and leggings or skinny satin trousers. That's the first step to feeling comfortable, making sure you have chosen the 'right' outfit.

If it is party dresses you can wear tights to cover your legs and why not - it is winter after all! There is a huge range out there even in the local supermarkets and on the internet (try tightsplease.co.uk) in lots of different colours, textures (lacey, spangly), and fabrics (wool, cotton and nylon).
For the arms you could wear a little bolero or cropped cardi or a pashmina (you can get some good seconds on Amazon in every colour under the sun!).

I have used dabs of ordinary makeup foundation on my leg blotches when wearing more transparent tights. Moisturise the psoriasis thoroughly before applying the foundation and then dust with a little face powder so it doesn't stick to your tights. I don't see why you can't do this on your arms but it may rub off on your clothing or someone else. That's where the proper camoflague make up really works.

You say that you usually don't worry about your arms so I think it's best to grin and 'bare' it. After all you can't wear a jumper in the summer so you will have to get those arms out sooner or later. There is no psoriasis police out there, most people don't notice it as they are not out looking for it (especially at a party wearing beer goggles). If you get any 'double takes' just explain what it is.

Don't be embarrassed, be bold. You will go to the ball and you will look fab-u-lous darling!

At my work party I wear a nice frock, I have very bad psoriasis on my legs but I wear fishnet type tights I have a nice pair that have roses on (looks great with red skin)
The other thing is accessorise with some nice jewellery and bangles, it breaks up your arms.
Long sleeve tops can be nice, some people wear lacy type tops.

I guess some of it depends on your clothing taste

But above all, just try to enjoy a night out xxx
