But I remember you saying you sometimes take Fumaderm with your meal and alcohol, I thought as they are both DMF I would mention it. @Dave Caroline can sometimes forget to take the blinkers off when others talk about DMF in another form that is not Psorinovo. Fred thinks that's bound to get him a bollocking

Tecfidera is slow release so I can't understand what difference having a drink when taking it or within an hour will make the slightest difference Fumaderm is enteric coated and releases faster ..... I shall not change my habits as enjoy a drink with my dinner

I never by myself have found any relation between the consumption of alcohol or not. Now I am not really a drinker. 2 glasses of wine are normally the max, if I have accidentally 3 then I get really too close to public drunkenship. Sorry to have upset you Dave and Fred So about Biogens Tecfidera, to me that seems utter nonsense. Again a signal that they did no real deep going research. Then it is easy to say that you cannot use alcohol, always a hit. The build up scheme sounds to me as really uncomfortable and far from a careful build up.

Alcohol consumption can have a significant impact on your digestive track. It's not advisable to wash down any medication with a pint o' Guinness that requires the stomach to digest. It's irrelevant if there is any real reaction between the drug and alcohol, it's simply NOT worth the potential lawsuit.
On the other hand, biologics are injected to avoid breakdown by the stomach, so there is the potential to tip a few cold ones, but I'd wouldn't recommend it. Many people who take biologics complain about dehydration. I don't think alcohol is the best choice here. I'd also not recommended anything with caffeine in it on the day of injection to. This is just my opinion, and I think the best choice for taking meds is H2O, unless doctor advises otherwise. On a side note, a do miss drinking beer over there. The beer taste sooo much better over in Ireland. I'd think I'd become an alcoholic if i lived there. |
