Jag No 38 done!
All going well, no problems and still doing it's job.
Have had a couple of colds which delayed me taking this dose by 8 days
but all well.
Last couple of times at Derm they have checked on my records how many
times I have had Antibiotics , checking if I am having more infections etc, I
haven't noticed this before that they checked and wonder if this is something
with the length of time on the biologic or maybe this is something which has
been checked for years without me being aware.
I wouldn't say I have any more virus bouts, or infections than before I started Stelera.
Hope all is well with everyone.

Good news! I thought Stelara was the best..

Hello Angie, good to see you again and great to hear it's still doing it's stuff. Stelara was one of my favourites, it worked for just over 6 years.
Sounds like they are keeping a good eye on you too, long may it continue.

Hi Angie,
Good to hear that you are doing well.
As far as I have seen around me, all people have had all kinds of colds, sneezing, stuffed noses, viruses etc. Which is the result of the covid period, where we were not in contact with each other and therefore our immune systems are not up to date anymore.
There is even a flu-epidemic over here in NL .
So… even if you are a bit more vulnerable because of the stelara, that is undetectable.

Hi Angie great to hear from you. I have my Stelara delivery next week though I inject every 10 weeks now it's working great and it's around 11 years since I started on it. Don't have many infections and I am very happy with it.

Thanks Everyone.
Yes Stelera still going good.
Dave, great that 11 years in and your still doing well, I wonder if you are one of the longest staying on Stelera, I have been told previously by pharmacists (that’s who I have my appointments with now) that they start to see it failing around 5 years ish, in.
Yes Caroline, it’s the same here with everyone suffering with colds , winter viruses etc. Bring on the summer!

Good Morning
Jag 41 done, couple of weeks ago. 9 years on Stelera.
Still working its magic and very little psoriasis to speak about.
Little bit in ears, couple bits on elbow and knee but doing a great job.
My hospital visits are now once a year with a Pharmacist reviewing me
and once a year to see a skin specialist nurse who checks over my skin
for anything that shouldn’t be there. Due to having well over the
recommended dose of UVA & UVB for a lifetime. I get my bloods done
twice a year at my request as they had thought once a year was fine.
I would rather keep a closer eye than that.
I go on holiday today and will have time to catchup on here.
I hope you are all well.
Angie

Hi Angie still working well for me for P and PsA .
I have gone to one visit every year to a dermatologist and everything is ok. I am also still on every ten weeks for the Stelara, my only problem at the moment is that I am still having B12 issues after my third and final COVID vaccine and I am having B12 injections every three months.
Great to hear from you, take care.

Hello Angie good to see you around again, great to hear Stelara is still working for you. I done well on it for 6 years but it just couldn't cope with the psoriatic arthritis, I'm also on once a year visits to my dermatologist unless I get a problem then I can phone them.
Long may it continue for you and thank you for taking the time to come and update. Your information could help others, take care and hope to see you again soon.

Hi Angie,
Good to see you around again and very happy that the Stelara still works out fine for you.
Makes a lot of sense to keep on going to the derm once a year, indeed too much light-therapy is an ongoing risk.
In my view, light-therapy is a dead-end street, it helps, but the Psoriasis always comes back, and your skin gets an overdose each time.
The idea of the lighttherapy is to let Vitamin D develop in the skin that fights the Psoriasis, but what I don’t get then is why do they not measure the vit D in your blood and then, depending on that level, give you a standard extra dose of vit D in pills form. That vit D will in the end also reach your skin, assuming a decent high level. That circumvents the lighttherapy problems.
Myself I take an extra dose of vit D every two days, and functioning fine on that.
Don’t get too tipsy in the bar…
