Hmmmm anyone have any updates on footwear for palmoplantar pustular psoriasis? I can’t find anything comfortable for the raw scaly itchy sides of my feet.

I don't have psoriasis on my feet, but I have been told I have psoriatic arthritis as do others here. In some readings I've ran across it mentions skin psoriasis on the feet as well. Some suggestions were to wear 100% cotton socks, some were to moisturize before putting on socks (which I have done this for my legs for another condition) and some mention that compression socks can help as well, but I wouldn't wear those since you have other conditions unless a doctor approved. Socks can help keep the shoes from rubbing against the skin.
Sadly I can't think of anything really when it comes to shoes.

Perhaps two layers of thin cotton socks? Like you do to prevent friction and blisters..

I found bamboo socks help stop my feet sweating and they are nice and soft, but I've never had pustular so wouldn't know if it helps with that.

Thanks guys. This has been maybe the most difficult part. It’s hard to go anywhere when you can’t wear shoes or even socks most times. I did get cotton socks. Might try bamboo. I have to wrap with gauze to even get socks on but it’s all so itchy.

I know when I put moisturizer on my legs and then they were wrapped I thought it would be uncomfortable because having the lotion on and then wrapping at first felt itchy, but then it was fine and when I removed the wrap the lotion had been absorbed. It wasn't for psoriasis and I didn't have psoriasis on my legs at that time so no clue how lotion combined with socks would feel with psoriasis and already itching. I do remember trying bamboo socks and they were quite soft and comfortable. They also didn't bind like some socks do at the top. I know this isn't really a lot of help with what you are dealing with. Psoriasis is bad enough but adding neuropathy to it is no picnic.

It really is a struggle with footwear. All the online stuff is for psoriatic arthritis. My Mom went and bought every sandal she could find in my size at Walmart but they all have some part that touches the raw skin. My Mom rocks btw. I hate to see her so worried and today she was really happy that I found this group and have some support going through this stuff so a double whammy relief! Well, off to try that polysporin stuff again!
