Has anyone had psoriasis in their ear canal?  Did you also have an ear infection?  Not the outer ear, but the inside part a Q-Tip might reach?  Would you apply a little steroid ointment, using a Q-Tip?

Never had it over there.
I would anyway be careful you don’t know what steroids do with your eardrum.

#1 Like Caroline said you should not use a steroid in the ear.

#2 You should not use Q-tips (cotton buds) in your ear. Many years ago the cotton came of one and it got stuck in my ear, my doctor was not happy and said you should only use one thing in your ear and that is your finger.

As for what to use for psoriasis in the ear I would only use coconut oil or something prescribed and monitored by your doctor. You only get two ears and you don't want to go damaging one of them.

NoNo

* I changed your thread subject FW to "Psoriasis in Ear Canal" as it may get more answers that way.

I’ve had it up my nose and it’s a real nuisance as you can’t really use steroid creams in such delicate places.

I agree - I think I’d contact the doc about it in the ear canal.

Thank you, all.  I have a primary care doc appointment later today and a dermatologist appointment in early August.  I won't use the steroid ointment in my ear.   Confused

I had psoriasis there, but at the time I had psoriasis in most other places as well. Never tempted to use steroids.

Hope you get good help at your consultations.

Cheers

I still have psoriasis in my ears and behind the ears, I highly recommend Enstilar which really works and can be used in the ears.

I would disagree on using Enstilar in the ear canal unless prescribed by a doctor as it contains betamethasone dipropionate a potent steroid, but that is your choice.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

I've had problems with psoriasis in my ear. I melted a little coconut oil and (don't shoot me for the next part) used a q-tip which is NOT recommended to apply. However I did not push the q-tip down into my ear canal, I did let a bit of the warm coconut oil run down into the ear however. I don't know if it's safe or all that effective but it felt good at the time I was doing it. Big Grin

I agree with the others, talk to your doc and do what they say. Thumb

Just lay on your side and get someone to drip a little from a spoon into your ear, you can also try olive oil. Just make sure it's not to cold, body temp is best. Thumb
