MRNA vaccine — In this approach, the vaccine contains messenger RNA, called mRNA. mRNA is processed in cells to make proteins. Once the proteins are produced, the immune system will make a response against them to create immunity. In this case, the protein produced is the COVID-19 spike protein. Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.

Non-replicating viral vector vaccine — Similar to replicating viral vector vaccines, a gene is inserted into a vector virus, but the vector virus does not reproduce in the vaccine recipient. Although the virus can’t make all of the proteins it needs to reproduce itself, it can make some proteins, including the COVID-19 spike protein. AstraZeneca’s and Johnson & Johnson’s vaccines are Non replicating viral vector vaccines.

Oxford Vaccine - The ChAdOx1 vaccine is a chimpanzee adenovirus vaccine vector.  This is a harmless, weakened adenovirus that usually causes the common cold in chimpanzees. ChAdOx1 was chosen as the most suitable vaccine technology for a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine as it has been shown to generate a strong immune response from one dose in other vaccines. It has been genetically changed so that it is impossible for it to grow in humans. This also makes it safer to give to children, the elderly and anyone with a pre-existing condition such as diabetes. Chimpanzee adenoviral vectors are a very well-studied vaccine type, having been used safely in thousands of subjects.
NOTE: Adenoviruses are common viruses that cause a range of illness. They can cause cold-like symptoms, fever, sore throat, bronchitis, pneumonia, diarrhea, and pink eye (conjunctivitis). You can get an adenovirus infection at any age.  I added the note in case (like me) you wondered what an adenovirus was, however it does state that it has been genetically changed so it's impossible to grow in humans.

Novavax Vaccine - NVX-CoV2373 is a protein-based vaccine candidate engineered from the genetic sequence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19 disease. NVX-CoV2373 was created using Novavax’ recombinant nanoparticle technology to generate antigen derived from the coronavirus spike (S) protein adjuvanted with Novavax’ patented saponin-based Matrix-M™ to enhance the immune response and stimulate high levels of neutralizing antibodies. NVX-CoV2373 contains purified protein antigen and can neither replicate, nor can it cause COVID-19.

According to the CDC in the US - Feb 11, 2020 · FACT: COVID-19 vaccines will not give you COVID-19. None of the COVID-19 vaccines currently in development or in use in the United States, contain the live virus that causes COVID-19. There are several different types of vaccines in development. However, the goal for each of them is to teach our immune systems how to recognize and fight the virus that causes COVID-19.

I did not find any that said it used the live virus.... but my understanding (such as it is) is that there are quite a few vaccines being developed so I only looked up the ones "in the news"  But I thought it was interesting so added it here.

Editing to add: This info is from searching the web, I do not know that it is accurate only that it seemed like legitimate information but since I have no scientific or medical background I do not know for certain. I think anyone with health issues and/or concerns should discuss with their doctor which vaccine is the best for them. My understanding here in the US is that at first people will not get to "choose" their vaccine as it will more depend on what is available at the time you are eligible to get vaccinated. I know I still plan to make certain my doctor doesn't feel any of the ones out there could be harmful to me and if he thinks one is safer or more beneficial due to my specific health needs then I would wait until that one became available if that was decided to be the best choice for me.

What I just read, source: NewScientist

If you have a vaccine injection, then refrain from alcohol for at least three days.

It appears from research that alcohol lowers the immune response and can make the vaccine ineffective.
