Good luck Artemie I hope you have great success with your mission.
It sounds as if you are making some big changes and let's hope that they will supplement the sunshine you enjoyed in the summer
I will watch with great interest Thumb

Microbiome sample is on it's way to a lab to be analysed. Oh the joys of collecting such samples.

Bloodtest on vitamins, iron etc will be done asap, pandemic allowing... so maybe later

Blood analasys on food intolerances will be done in the next months, after eating food out of tested food groups.

I've been put on a low histamine diet, with borage and boswellia supplements.

I was clearing rather nicely over summer (also on non-exposed spots) but I feel there should be more personal diet changes for it to work better.
So spend about 6 months to find a dietician who thinks along the same lines as me.
There could be a latent virus,, bacteria of something like that in the microbiome and I've seen mentioned ofttimes in scientific paper that the microbiome of people with psoriasis is often different.

This is a long project. Mission; find Artemie's specific triggers  18

Boswellia ! Hey, dr. Van Loon mentioned this to me also once.
Good luck in this complex search.
If you are searching for a latent virus, bacteria of something, did I ever tell you about CWDB’s?, can’t remember that. Rolleyes

it's probably gonna be a long way to Tipperary, but it already has been.
Kat; thanks! The diet I now follow is way less restrictive, altough I suspect it will need some personal tweaking after tests of blood, stool and whathaveyounot.
Caroline; I'm also curious to what the Boswellia will do, I'll try to keep everybody posted.
Jim; thanks =]

Artemie, how are you doing, now?  A year or so after beginning this diet?

Hi Forest Walker,

I was almost completely clear after a year. (!) But besides a full time job, me and the hubby are building our own house from scratch and living in a mobile home with a teeny tiny kitchen has led me to slip up the diet, just to be able to cope after a long day. Everyone to tired to cook, running to the snackbar... And lo and behold; it came back a bit. Now in the process of eliminating the few things I've added back to my diet; oatmeal, rice, potatos and some nuts and seeds. Already the skin is not so... agressive anymore.

Realisticly I have to 'cheat' sometimes now because of long building hours but I know it works! Before the end of the year I will have an oven again and a working kitchen (ish) =]
I hope this helps you if you're interested in the AIP diet, let me know if you have questions.

Thank you.  Your improvement, along with Alan's, is inspiring.  It must be reassuring to know that you can return to clearer skin after a few "cheat" meals by returning to the diet that worked.  It's really nice to read that you are doing pretty well on this.

I have Crohn's Disease with strictures in my small intestine and must stick to a low-residue diet (avoiding fiber), but I've ordered a juicer and have begun keeping a food diary this week.  Reading about your improvement and Alan's and learning about Topical Steroids' risks and the amazingly nice virgin coconut oil is so helpful.  How lucky was I to stumble on this forum?  Very!  Smile

Hi Forest Walker, how is your juicing and progress?

For me, as long as I adher to the diet and cream up with Calcipotriol Im almost clear! Slipping up however is happening lots, but I don't give up. Sometimes I allow myself to give in to a good craving. Which is nice Smile

In the morning I drink Slippery Elm with a teaspoon of Ceylon Cinnamon and honey. From the afternoon on I always add Carthamus Tinctorius to my herbal tea mix in the big pot. Vit D3 with K2 with breakfast.

Soy seems to be a bad culprit. I've replaced it with Coconut Aminos, with some pure fish sauce added to mimic soy sauce. Because I love me some sashimi (well I love sushi but try to avoid rice)

Also; I have 6 now 10 day old Bengal kittens, brown rozetted little bundles of joy.

Hat's off for following a strict diet  78  this is a very difficult path to follow to treat health issues.

Finding the right specialist is not easy sometimes!

I am positive you will easily get back on track.  That being said, you need to treat yourself (cheat) once in a while!

1. Reward for doing so well
2. Enjoying something you like
3. A little morale booster  Wink

I love Bengals  Heart  I want to get one in the future  but they are really expensive here  Confused
