Reducing Acitretin Medication - Thoughts?

Sorry I meant to update this last week but I have a lot going on at the moment, so wasn't able to........

Ok so I saw my Derm end of Feb (who is a specialist in Palmoplantar Pustular Psoriasis incidentally), and he has said that it looks like my psoriasis (albeit a rare one by comparison) has gone into remission!!!!!  Well I wasn't even sure that this could happen but seemingly it has.  I did self reduce my medication anyway, as you know, but I have now been taken off acitretin permanently.

Not sure how I feel about this but happy that I am not taking any medication but I have a theory that I was misdiagnosed in the first place but I will never know that's for sure.

I haven't had any signs or symptoms since early 2018, of which I am hugely grateful for, let me tell you that!  But as you know I asked for my medication to be reduced and now I am on nothing..... scary but fingers crossed that it continues.

Just thought I would update this post accordingly....

As far as I'm concerned that's a brilliant outcome but can understand your nervousness for fear of it returning to you

Well that is looking very good Wooley!
Would be great if it is in remission, I think that is possible.
If your derm is a specialist, I think the chance of a misdiagnostic is not so large, but.... still a chance.

Great that you are off medication.

I understand fully the light stress there always is about the coming back of the Psoriasis. It is the same for all of us, one is always alert of symptoms in that direction.

Well irrespective of what it was it is really  good news you are clear now and no longer on meds. That's a win.

Thanks Caroline,  Yes I am very pleased but will always in the back of mind be on the lookout for signs but for now I can be happy with this current outcome....
