Hi, first post to this forum. My son has Chrons and Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. I do think there is a link, but have no knowledge of any formal tests or official info on it. I just think so.

Hello Julie to Psoriasis Club.
I think there are a lot of similarities between Crohns and Psoriasis but I've never delved any deeper, it would be interesting to find out more. Regards. Fred.

Hi Julie and a big forum to you.
I can't help with your query but I am sure you will get an answer or at least another opinion from the club.... I hope you are finding your way around I see Fred has been guiding you, and you couldn't want a better guide. There is a lot of information on here about all sorts of topics relating to psoriasis and PSA which should be of interest to you. You will find us a very friendly supportive group of people with psoriasis or PSA or both in common. We air our views on here because it is friendly and a safe place to post, . Fred makes sure there is no spam, or cyber bullying on here and no adverts or external links . These measures help to keep the site safe for all members. If you feel down at any time there is usually someone in the off topic section or if not, there are many lighter posts to read and smile at. It's used as a safety valve, to have a rant, or you may want to tell us a joke. Well that's the place for that. I wish you luck in your search for answers, keep coming back to check or to update us on your findings. As Fred would say.... It may just help someone else

Hi Julie,
Welcome to the forum. I wish you a good time over here. A first reaction, don't have much time now, yes, there seems to be a link between Crohns, MS, psoriasis and PsA. The signals are still small, in the sense that you don't see much about it on the internet, but informally there are some signals. This means that certain medications that work for psoriasis also may work for Crohns and MS. Cheers, Caroline

OK I decided to look into it a bit more and guess what, we have some interesting reading right here on Psoriasis Club.
I used the search facility (available to members only) and the following mention Crohn's, just click the ones you may think will interest you. Psoriasis and Crohn's four fold risk UCB's Cimzia for psoriatic arthritis Phase 3 results Is psoriasis triggered by microbiota in the skin? There are more but I only picked these 3 as there are 22 results, if only I thought of that sooner. Just goes to show what a great source of information Psoriasis Club has become thanks to it's members input. To use the search facility see here: Using The Search Facility
A large portion of people with IBD end up with arthritis and other skin disorders. It's probable that the joint pain is associated with chrons (or at least some of it).
I'm going to elaborate a bit. Peripheral arthritis is common with chrons. The damage typically isn't as bad as RA. There is research suggesting a correlation between improvement of Chrons and peripheral arthritis. However, I can't find anything research on axial symptoms.
