Otezla doesn’t do anything for PsA. The approval in the states for PsA in the states is fraudulent- it took three phases III to get it approved. Because of the gastrointestinal problems most doctors subscribed it at a lower than recommend does so it takes forever to work for Psoriasis. I’d just avoid this one.

Thank you Mata another good reason not to take it.

Just over three months now on the three weeks between shots and it has been a little better for the psoriasis but not a huge difference. I'm still using the diprosone for the odd bit when I feel a flare up coming, but I think I would be just the same back on the 4 weeks.

But three more months to go, so I will carry on for now.

I'm very pleased to say that the psoriatic arthritis is still keeping away, that was my main reason for switching to Cosentyx so yes I'm pleased.

Psoriasis Score: Still at 5
Psoriatic Arthritis Score: I could almost put zero but I will stick to 1 as I do sometimes get a little bit of pain in my right shoulder especially in the morning, but nothing to bother me as it soon passes.

Great to hear it’s good on the Psoriatic arthritis fred bit of a shame it’s not quite as good at your Psoriasis
But it seems to be keeping you active and not bothered by the arthritis
Long may it continue to work Thumb

Yes it is a bit annoying as it had almost cleared the psoriasis at one point , but being able to do things again is the best bit. 87

The interesting thing is, that over here in the Netherlands we have a so called consult map. This map shows the different treatments also bio's and when they should be prescribed. O
For Cosentyx it says: "For Psoriactic Arthritis this medication has less preference.” Which once again shows the diffence between a patients view, a patients experience, the difference in between patients, the view of the medical world and the measurement/statistics/reseach that is and has being done by Pharmacy and Dermatology.

It also shows that there is always hope that a perhaps less preferred and obvious medication still can work for an individual patient. So if you are going to see your derm, stay armed with this knowledge !

That's why reading real peoples experiences on Psoriasis Club is far better than reading anything else. The information you are getting is from the horses mouth. Thumb

I have had psoriatic arthritis probably for as long as you have been on this earth and Cosentyx is the best thing that I have ever tried, it's far better than any of the other bio's but that is in my case and it could be just the opposite for others. Like you say there is a difference in patients and how it effects them, all I know is I've gone from not being able to cut my own food to having what I would class as a normal life for my age. Smile

As for going armed with knowledge to my next appointment, there is only one other option for me at the moment and that is Taltz.
