I have been researching the average age at which one gets psoriasis. there is a lot of information and conflicting research, so I thought why not ask here! it could be interesting to find out from actual people rather than a paid for survey.

If you feel like taking part please use the Poll above. Members can also comment in this thread if they want to tell us more.

Guests can now take part in this poll too Thumb but why not register for membership you will find a friendly bunch of people here

Was a long time ago now but I was about 22. I had a good job, was in good health, and enjoying life.

I went on to get Psoriatic Arthritis about 5 years later.

Taking into consideration my ageing process, I think I was about 31/32 when I first developed the conditon, and it slowly got worse from there.

I was the grand old age of 4 when I was first diagnosed with psoriasis. It has never completely cleared up, even with UV therapy I still had it in my scalp and it only stayed clear for about 2 months after treatment. Now 35 and suffering really bad PSA while the psoriasis is manageable it's still there.

I was 16 running around in my back yard (probably doing yard work for my mother) when I ran under a tree, and scraped my head on a tree branch. Big long cut across my forehead. A month later it's still not healed, I go into the doc and he tells me I have scalp psoriasis, have had it ever since FML

My psoriasis started in 2003 so really its been about 9 years not 7. it started with a little dry patch on my bum. How embarrassed I was.

When I started research on psoriasis when my doctor said I had it, it said that kids who have dry skin trouble spots(per se the elbows?) have a good chance of getting it when they get older, is that true?

I'm not all that sure. I think I was having internal symtoms before it showed up on my skin.
