I've had psoriatic arthritis since 1985, it's a life changer.

According to the stupid BMI thing I'm just in the obese range, and it's a horrible word anyway.

I did get bad depression around the same time as psoriasis, but with the help of family and friends I managed to beat it.

Yes I would say psoriasis over the years has made me smoke to much pot and still drinking too much alcohol.

As a child, I had similar patches on my scalp as I do now, but they were not paid attention to.  At 21, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Crohn's Disease).  After starting Humira in 2007, I developed a persistent patch on one lower leg.  Slowly, a few more patchy places arrived, but I wasn't diagnosed with Psoriasis until 2020 or 2021, I think.

I always thought my hypertension began when I had to be on Prednisone for Crohn's for a number of years (before better medicines were available).

Over the years we have had a few members with Crohn's, you have my sympathies.

It is possible that certain medication triggers psoriasis..
At least you have your share of comorbidities… pff.

I only have Psoriatic Arthritis, but I don’t consider that as a comorbidity, but as a different incarnation of the same disease. Only minor spots of psoriasis.

Further more I am reasonably happy, so no depression though there are some things in my life that really worry me.

I certainly am not obese, I don’t smoke and have recently quit alcohol completely.

My heart belongs to my OH, but further nothing wrong with it.  Big Grin

It's listed as the first, but yes that will depend where you look. For me it is as I don't recall people having psoriatic arthritis without a diagnoses of psoriasis. Other forms of arthritis yes, but no psoriatic hence the name, but I could be wrong.

You do know people with Psoriatic Arthritis and no diagnosis of psoriasis……. “Me”

That also might be the reason that I look differently to it, and there is a Dutch dermatologist who wrote a thesis in which he states that psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis are basically the same disease. He will give a speech at the next information afternoon of the dutch psoriasis association.

They came later AND you said: “diagnosis of psoriasis”, I have never had that diagnoses.

Fred, according to my old RA, I had one of the worst cases of psoriasis he has seen in a PSA patient. And my psoriasis was probably never more than 15% coverage with a 2 in severity. I always assumed that people with the worse symptoms of PSA would have horrible psoriasis, but clearly that’s not the case.
