Yeah, that makes sense regarding becoming chronic. My brother had eczema as a kid and Mom has rosacea but no other skin problems in the family so for me, I’m not sold on a necessary genetic component. I am pretty ignorant when it comes to the science behind psoriasis, especially PsA since I don’t have that. Glad I found you guys. I feel I have learned a lot since joining.
Now I am wondering if I just had a small patch of eczema and all the steroids turned it into PPP!

Well… medication is another trigger of psoriasis, if its the wrong medication on the wrong time. I have heard that more.

As far as I know, science, specifically medical science, does not have an idea of the chronic cause of psoriasis, so how the chronic mechanism really works.
Some are thinking of epigenetics, the change of genes. This would explain why also people who are not genetically influenced by their ancestors, still can get psoriasis.
Some are thinking the cause is somewhere deep in our system, our cells, our microbiome… ??
This would explain the working of some medication and would explain that more people are able to control their psoriasis or Psoriatic Arthritis by significantly changing their diet.
