If I have a smallish area of psoriasis which maybe I’ve scratched and is a bit sore, I’ve found good old antiseptic cream helpful because it moisturises and stops infection but also seems quite soothing unlike normal moisturisers. I am not sure but there’s probably limits to how big an amount you can use each day.

It sounds like a very obvious thing to try but I have to admit I hadn’t thought of trying it until recently, probably because you get a barrage of different creams from the doctor..

Ok so this isn’t usually a prescribed drug, you can just buy it over the counter - but I didn’t put it in natural treatments because it isn’t that either.,

Interesting, I'm thinking something like good old fashioned Germolene. I have never thought of using it for psoriasis but can see how it may help as it has analgesic and antipruritic properties.

I can't remember the last time I used it and I don't recall seeing it here but it was always in the first aid box. It would be interesting to try just one patch and see how it goes, probably won't get rid of the psoriasis but I can see that it would give relief.

Yes no problem naming them, it's the scam and fake stuff that has no regulation that gets deleted. Thumb

Dermatologist recommended prescription for Clobestasol Propionate Gel, 0.05%. Use it 3 evenings a week on scalp plaque to calm flare up. Wanted me to use coal tar at night 3 times per week, but it to calm the cellulose and scale flaking build up but it smelled really strong so I asked for something else.

Have you been trying the gel on your scalp for a while, yet?  Is it working pretty well?

I've used coconut oil on the scalp and found it to help a little bit.  I don't think I would want the smell of the coal tar, either.

Coal tar was the first thing I was given and it didn’t help one bit, my skin felt worse after.

I used Taclonex (Enstilar) which is Calcipotriene-Betamethasone and it helped with my scalp and neck.  It sounds very similar to what you were prescribed, both are a corticosteroid for short term use.

Hope it helps!
