Avoiding processed foods then as they all contain sugar. As they do salt, monosodium glutamate, flavour enhances, etc, etc.

Enjoy the Martini I say and to hell with it all. Smile

Been eating without sugar for over 20 years. It gets easier. Sugar is addictive. I have a bit of raw honey (not processed!) and that seems to help. I also do not eat chocolate or any caffeine products. Carob and Postum are some healthy substitutes for this. I also have not eaten meat in over 20 years. Now I cannot have sugar, chocolate, meat, etc. without feeling physically ill so I don't miss them much and I have been able to keep my weight down (avoiding the effects of psoriatic arthritis). I am not clear, but my skin is manageable.

Those of us who have psoriasis can really attest to the fact that 'food can be a drug,' huh?

BTW...health food stores have some good products without sugar, but I am with Fred. No processed foods work best.

Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

We have been going to a "no processed food" diet at the house and it's been a bit difficult making the switch. My gp stresses it for overall good health. There are some days when just the convenience of processed foods still manages to creep in though.

Why does conventional medicine not recognize the food connection?

It's possible they do, but diet is not something you can force onto anyone, you give the average man a strict diet ( I regard myself as average) we could not stick to it.
But give us a pack of pills we will take those
So I suppose it's easier to pop pills than educate. Although I don't think diet will work for everyone

#1 They would make no money from it, and they would be out of a job.
#2 Getting people to stick to it 100% would be difficult to police.
#3 There is no really good hard and fast medical proof that it does actually make a difference.

They kept telling me "Give up smoking as not only is it bad for your health it's part of the nightshades which are very bad for psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis"

I gave up around 4 years ago now and it made no difference whatsoever, all it did do was make me put weight on. Doh

To be fair my Dermatologist did want to refer me to a diet specialist as she said some foods are bad, but I refused as I wouldn't stick to it.
