Take my advice; I don't use it anyway.

Glad to hear it's helping with the psoriatic arthritis. Wish it would work quicker on the psoriasis for you but hopefully soon.

Thank you Kat. It's been the best thing ever for psoriatic arthritis and I would like to stay on it, but Taltz is looking like it could be worth a try later on.

My priority though at the moment is being able to move as an almost normal being which feels good.  87

Have you tried some topicals, Fred? They might be more effective with the Cosentyx.

Cheers

Yes I've tried a few Bill and although they do help getting the flakes off it soon comes back once I stop using them.

Plus I do have this thing of always wanting just one treatment and not a mix. By having a mix I won't know which one is working.

And for me the aim is to just take one treatment preferably a shot under the skin and be rid of both psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, I don't see the point in using two, three, or even four treatments and I wouldn't want to.

If a treatment is going to work it has to do it alone and work for me, preferably a quick shot under the skin now and then to get on with my life is what I want. I've been close and maybe it will come in my time, if not I will keep switching Bio's till I find the one that works for me or pop my clogs and say at least it was better than when I first got it.

A combination of Injections, Pills, Creams, Light , Diet, Changes in lifestyle, Laying in a bath of custard is never going to work for me. I just want one shot under the skin say once a month and be happy, I'm almost there and each Bio I try gets better so that is my future.

Fred, you really set the bar high. I have every desire to minimise my treatment, but using a topical with DMF has worked well for me. To each his own. Huh

Big Grin

Hello Bill. I'm taking a treatment that messes with the immune system so it has to work, I don't see the point in taking it and still having to slap cream on twice a day. So yes I do set the bar high for Bio treatments, they cost a fortune to my health care system and they should be getting value for money.

Don't get me wrong, but your treatment costs peanuts so in that case I can see why you're happy to use topical's as well. But if your treatment costs thousands would you still be happy spending more ?

Like you say "To each his own" I wouldn't entertain your treatment if you paid me. But at the end of the day we all have to raise the bar to the height we are happy with, and for me that bar is right at the top.

Thank you, Fred. DMF cost has no effect on my decision to use accessory treatments. I base this on how well the treatment is working as well as the available evidence. For example, calcipotriol is suggested as a topical therapy with DMF. The benefit is that the psoriasis may clear more quickly and a lower dose of DMF will be required. With my recent use of topical I have made a big difference to a spot on my knee that was hanging on after over five years of systemic treatment.

I would love to take one drug for p and psa, but what is it? Does such a drug exist? As for cost, my experience leaves me unconvinced that a costly treatment must be better. My drug is as effective as ever after over five years. I am doubtful that any other treatment could work as well.

Cheers

For future reference.

Had a bad day today with the psoriatic arthritis. My score shot up from 1 to 12 for a few hours  Confused

It happened whilst working in the garden weeding which involved a lot of kneeling and use of the arms. It's the worst I have felt since being on Cosentyx and although it has eased a bit now back down to a score of 4 it's not feeling very good.

Been a bit stormy and damp today.

Next shot this coming Saturday.

The weather certainly has its influence Fred, although sometimes hard to explain. One would expect the cold weather of the past weeks would have had its influence also.
Anyway, as your next shot is close, not yet to worry I would think.
And well, PsA is known for its effect on strain.

Sorry to hear that Fred I hope it’s not a bad sign, and just a one off blip

Can you take your next shot early ?
