I've been looking at what treatments are available. I'm not sure about any of the oral meds. 

I have 2 chronic illnesses. An underactive thyroid for which I take 175mg thyroxine, I have been this under control and don't think it would be affected. 

I also have ulcerative colitis which is inflammation of the colon. I struggle to get keep it under control and it appears most of the oral meds can cause diarrhoea so I can think I'd have problems. 

Does anyone else have similar x

I don't have any other chronic illnesses, but there are lot of co-morbid problems related to psoriasis. If it helps, I would say most of the research is posted here on Psoriasis Club if it is related to psoriasis and I always post anything relevant.

There is an awful lot of related things you can get when you have Psoriasis, but I won’t tell them all here, first get yourself together and not lose the will to live.....

Colitis is somehow related as it also a chronic disease, but as far as I know that is the only link. I am not aware that it is mentioned as a co morbidity.

Interestingly some systemics and some biologicals that work against Psoriasis, also work for/against collitis.

A few days ago i saw a tv report, on tv of course, from one of our hospitals. They have a so called faeces bank, sounds as a bit of poop talk, but the interesting thing is that they use this for so called faeces transplants for........ patients with collitis ulcerosa. And they claim to have good results.
Is that something you are aware of ?

Faeces transplants are nothing new. It is already an old trick with a sensible background. Patients with Collitis often have a completely broken down bacteriological content of their intestines.
Already many years ago, doctors with a broader mind, have tried to cure collitis by resetting the bacteria in the intestines in a patient by loading them with a known good set of bacteria of a donor. They had good results.
Only now, years later, this has been finally picked up by current medicine, again with good results.

Oh, never mind...

I can't help Kp but I know one of our members suffers with IBS and crohns....and is on Stelara which helps the psoriasis and the crohns I believe see [Group Specific]

I would think the colitis and psoriasis would be a strong reason to try you on a biological but I'm not sure which. It must be complicated for the doc to follow the treatment pathway in regards to both diseases.

I had not read that about the pig parasite before - I wonder how the trials went? Maybe because it's another treatment based on a natural product i.e. something which you can't patent, it has had trouble getting funding?
