Thank you TL. But how could you miss Me  Big Grin

Go for it Dave, you will be amazed what it can do for psoriatic arthritis

Isn’t it smarter to keep the idea of Cosentyx as a backup as long as your Stelara still works fine?

Stelara works fine for psoriasis Carloine, but Dave is like me and needs to get the psoriatic arthritis under control. It's his choice in the end but for me a bit of psoriasis and zero pain is what I want.

One Year On Cosentyx.

I took my shots today and can't believe it's already one year towmorrow but here I am giving my opinion for 12 months use of Cosentyx for psoriatic arthritis.

My reason for switching from Stelara to Cosentyx was for psoriatic arthritis as I had got to the stage where it was taking over my life again and Stelara was no longer helping. Well it didn't take long to start working and within a couple of weeks I was moving around a lot better and able to use more than one finger to type.

At around 4 weeks I had hardly any problems and noticed my self esteem had improved immensely. Also walking was a hell of a lot easier as was using my hands and arms, and it just kept getting better and better. At week 12 the psoriatic arthritis was almost completely gone.

Since then I have had no problems whatsoever with psoriatic arthritis. No more pain, no stiffness, no more waking up in the night locked up, no more uncomfortable walking, no more not being able to do everyday tasks. It was bloody brilliant, and still is. Yes, one year on and I hardly know I have psoriatic arthritis. I keep my score at 1 but only because I have psoriatic arthritis and can get a little feeling in one finger on a rare occasion.

So for me Coesntyx has done exactly what I wanted it to do, it's got rid of the psoriatic arthritis that was ruining my life. Yep you read it right, it's gone.  87

I have found Cosentyx is still struggling to keep the psoriasis down on my shins (this has always been the most difficult part to clear) but it's not bothering me too much as movement was much more important. I have noticed if I get a flare up it goes straight to the shins and take a while to calm down, bur a flare up doesn't bring on any psoriatic arthritis.

Side Effects: I have had no side effects at all from Cosentyx, in fact it's the best Bio I have ever taken. Take the shots and forget about it till the next ones are due, nothing else happens.

Sum Up: Coesntyx has given me my life back again, I'm free of pain and discomfort. It could be a little better on the psoriasis, but for me it's got rid of the psoriatic arthritis. I'm continuing with Cosentyx and now see my dermatologist only twice a year and have bloods checked every three months (which always come back perfect).

Would I recommend it? Yes if you have bad psoriatic arthritis and want to be able to move around and be pain free. But probably no if you want it to just get the psoriasis down, Stelara was better at that I think. *But then we are all different and it has taken me many years and 5 different Bio's to get where I am now.

Drinks on me in the Bar tonight.  15

Wow 12 months already?
I'm so pleased the Cosentyx is working it's magic and long may it do so. It must be such a pleasure to wake up essentially pain free every day - long may it continue to be your best friend. It's just a shame they don't side load Stellara to do the Ps as well (assuming it was still helping)
I'll gladly raise a glass in the bar to its continuing efficacy.   Thumb

I've put a few behind the bar for you John 15

After 6 years Stelara had pretty much stopped working on anything for me, so Cosentyx was a welcome switch.
