Hi Redangler and Welcome and thanks for joining ....just a quick question you say you are taking fumaric acid ?
Are you taking it as a supplement, or have you got Fumaderm tablets there is a vast difference
DMF (fumaric acid esters) will help with psoriasis
But unfortunately Fumaric acid will not work ...

More information needed as if you have DMF or Fumaderm you can expect side effects ...but you are unlikely to get anything with just fumaric acid

Mike

Whew that's great to know Mike ....I was trying to find a kind way to tell you that fumaric acid is a food additive and a waste of money

Glad you're on Fumaderm, you are among friends here, it's a drug that has changed my life beyond recognition, since becoming clear nearly 5 years ago

The best advice I can give you is follow the leaflet instructions and increase the dose at the correct time,
Take the tablets with a good meal and plenty of fluid see here  Fumaderm leaflet

I take mine morning with breakfast and evening with my evening meal with a pint of some fluid  Smile

Be prepared for intestinal cramps, and a bit of facial flushing ....you may not get any side effects some users here sail through without a problem. And others really struggle ...but be prepared for a few side effects let us know what's happening and we might have an answer

I hope you are having your bloods monitored as that's very important ...ask for the results from the doctor. I never accept they are within normal ....I want to see them and record them so I can see trends

I don't know anything about IBS Remedies to assist but I can tell you if you can tough out the first couple of months it should get easier ( it did for me ) now I get flushes which are not unpleasant a bit embarrassing sometimes when your face goes bright red but it soon calms down

Anything you want to know just ask we are happy to chat about it

If you haven't joined the newsletter group I can recommend it as great way to keep in touch with the latest developments to join Groups

Hi Jim
Many thanks for a very reassuring reply I will take your advice
Regarding the results- I will ask for a print out or email. As I have had a liver
Problem in the past I'm a bit concerned it might impact on this but only time will tell.
Thanks. Mike

If it does impact on your liver, as long as you are closely monitored (monthly) it will be reversible Thumb

And in that case, maybe shortly there will come a mono preparate on the European market and you can switch to that. The possible liver problems are caused by the MEF in Fumaderm. (MEF is mono ethyl fumarate) There is only a chance on liver problems, not a big chance.

Hope you feel better soon, I suffer from IBD so know how horrible the cramps can be. I also find a hot water bottle on your stomach helps Thumb
