Awesomeman starts a new thread " My Orencia Story Just started Orencia. I chose the weekly injection over the infusion. I just prefer
the shorter half life in my body. Injection was no biggie. So far I feel absolutely nothing which is kind of good since most of the stuff makes me feel
worse. I'll chime in with more input on how this plays out. But has anyone else done Orencia.

Are there any benefits injecting near psoriasis? As far as I understand it the Bio is absorbed under the skin slowly and spread around the body over a

I've had a flare up, mostly ears and neck, few spots here and there. I did buy an over the counter tar shampoo, didn't really help and I have problems with how those shampoos really seem to dry out my hair. Anyway, other than breaking down and trying the shampoo, I saved my money on the over the counter stuff as I've already been there/done that. The ONLY relief I got while waiting to see my doctor was virgin coconut oil.
I took two bowls and filled the bottom one with hot but not quite boiling water. I then put a bit of coconut oil in a smaller bowl and set in inside the bowl with the water. This dissolved the oil into a liquid form (plus made it a bit warm which I found soothing)

I am new to The forum.
A week and a half ago I started Fumaderm. Early days I know.
I moved to 2, 30mg tablets on Tuesday. I took them at night and woke up the next day bright red. It didn't last long and I was my normal colour by 1.
I let the doc know and they called me in for a look but I was back to normal.
They could not explain this. They said maybe it was flushing and told me to take the tabs at separate times.

Facial psoriasis was reported in 17–68% of patients with psoriasis and shown to have a negative impact on patients’ personal and health-related quality of life (HRQoL).
......... Read more about it Here Following on from the previous study Fred is running a poll.... Worst part of the body to get Psoriasis I thought it would be interesting to have a poll asking what people thought is the worst part of the body to have psoriasis. I don't think it's worth making the poll multi choice as we will probably tick all the boxes, so I have made it single answer.
Obviously anywhere to have psoriasis is a bad thing, but if you had to pick one what is the worst part of the body for you to have psoriasis ?
The poll is open to members and guests with no closing date.
Members are also welcome to post in this thread if they wish.

Distal interphalangeal (DIP) arthritis is a frequent form of psoriatic arthritis being often linked to nail psoriasis. Modern society is characterized by overuse of smartphones. Indeed, literature has recently focalized on research into smartphone addiction and health-related problems.
As smartphone addiction is able to determine overuse and repeated movements of DIP joints and nails, the aim of this study was to evaluate the impact of smartphone use on hand joints of young psoriatic patients.Read More Here Economic burden of psoriasis in Germany .
Though psoriasis poses a substantial chronic socio-economic burden, few studies have addressed the economic impact in Germany.
The objective was to evaluate the annual costs of psoriasis in Germany from the societal perspective.
A cross-sectional study was performed in randomly selected German dermatology practices and clinics in 2013/2014 using standardized questionnaires of illness-related costs. Costs were grouped by perspective and category as well as analysed by sex and age. Group differences were tested by non-parametric tests.........Read More Here Multinational assessment of psoriasis burden ...
This dermatologist and psoriasis patient study looks at the burden of psoriasis
Psoriasis is a chronic, immune-mediated disease, characterised by symptoms that include itching and skin pain and is often associated with comorbidities. Patients have a substantial detriment to quality of life (QoL) and work productivity with associated cost burden.
The objective was to investigate the incremental burden of comorbidities, itch, and affected body areas among systemic eligible patients with psoriasis, using a multinational survey of dermatologists and their psoriasis patients.........Read More of this study Here Bio's for psoriasis show stable long term effectiveness...

JohnB's Recipe Spot
Easy Malt Loaf
Well it’s not what I had planned this month, decorating has kind of got in the way. I’m not normally a cake person but I do quite like this.
So, take 1 large mug of each;
Soft Brown Sugar
Milk or cold strong black tea (both work well)
Sultanas
Self-raising Flour
All Bran. Use the good stuff (Kellogs). Cheap nasty imitations don’t work as well.
In a large bowl mix your sugar, sultanas, all bran, and liquid and leave for a couple of hours. ( I leave mine overnight).
Preheat your oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas Mk 4. Add your flour to the nice brown goo that should now reside in your bowl stirring in well. Load into a greased 1LB loaf tin, whack it in your oven and bake for around an hour. Shove a skewer in it around the hour mark, if it comes out with just a hint of batter in, its done. If not give it another 5 or 10 minutes. Try not to over cook, it should be moist and just a little sticky.
Allow to cool out of the tin on a rack, keeping a large stick handy to rap the knuckles of would be pilferers.
Slice and generously spread with real butter (please - not that artificial yellow greasy rubbish). A nice piece of Wensleydale or Crumbly Cheshire along with a large steaming mug of English Breakfast Tea accompanies it rather well. JohnB

Sneaky peek
We have an active Off Topic Board and we thought we would share some sneaky peeks with our lurkers.
The advantages of having psoriasis Maryam has started an interesting fun thread
- You can sing “let it snow” the whole year round
- If you have lost something you just follow your own trail
Did you know we have a thread where members only can talk about anxiety or depression Fred wrote
I've been reading some posts where members have mentioned depression. Some have mentioned they have experienced it and some have said they would be
happy to listen to others that needed someone to talk too. So I thought it would be a good idea to have a thread in off topic, where there could be
somewhere for our members to ask for or offer help
Depression is a serious subject so let's help each other if we can.
A little girl asked her father,
"How did the human race start?"
The father answered,
"God made Adam and Eve and they had children, and so all mankind was made."
Two days later the girl asked her mother the same question. The mother answered,
"Many years ago there were monkeys from which the human race evolved."
The confused girl returned to her father and said,
"Dad, how is it possible that you told me the human race was created by God, and Mom said they developed from monkeys?"
The father answered,
"Well, dear, it is very simple.
I told you about my side of the family and your mother told you about hers."

Hints and tips
Each month I will add a tip or a helpful link to assist with your posts ..
Using the Portal
A good tip is to use the Portal ....it's got a lot of information there and on the left below articles about the club are the last 20 new threads that have been posted
On the right of the page is a list of the last 20 threads posted in....if you want to view any of them just click where it says "last post" that will take you to the latest post in the thread .. See more about it here
Top Tip if you post in a thread and expect a reply ...move to another part of the forum before going back I see many members not moving from a post they have just made ...I suspect they are waiting for a reply......but it won't update until you either refresh the page or leave and return back ........
Should you get stuck or need help just ask a member of the forum team who are always pleased to offer assistance
I must say first off I'm not a big fan of covers, especially by musicians that have a lot of talent themselves. I usually only listen to covers by up and coming bands as it's good to hear their learning curve, but this album does deserve a mention.
As you probably already know Hart and Bonamassa have already built up a good reputation of turning out some great work in their own right. They have also ventured out along the duet road before with great success. This album "Black Coffee" features covers of some very well known greats in the soul, jazz, gospel and blues genres both Male and Female.
My top three from the album are:
Give It Everything You Got
Why Don't You Do Right
Addicted
If you're a Beth Hart and/or Joe Bonamassa fan I'm sure you will enjoy it, but for me I would rather have seen them produce their own stuff. Don't get me wrong it's a good album, but I'm thinking it was a money making exercise and they could have done better.
*Oh and Steve Marriott done the best cover of Black Coffee.
