Fumaderm continued success

Glad to hear that you are doing so well on your dose. I have been slowly building up my dose of initial tablets over the last 14 weeks or so. I'm currently on 6 initial tablets a day and am almost completely free of psoriasis.

PML was one of my worries, but after talking with the good people in this forum I've not worried about it since. I have a derm appointment next week and am hoping to stay on a low dose to see how it goes.

Good to know PML isn't a bother to you now , the risks are very minimal, and if you are monitored well the chances are extremely low
It is a great safe drug and I'm pleased you are doing well on it on such a low dose. Here's hoping you get long term clearance as William and I have

Glad to read of your continued success, William. It is interesting to read of people managed very well on small doses and I see the sense in your reluctance to cease taking your Fumaderm. If I could manage on your dose the DMF would cost me less than $2 US a year.

William. Really great that you are doing so fine on such a small dose. Just continue I would say. You seem to be in a perfect balance now. There is no need to go out of that balance by stopping wholly.

Obi, the risk of PML is immensely low, much lower than with other medication like e.g. MTX. The few cases there are, are mostly due to bad monitoring. In the Netherlands the guidelines for monitoring now have been adapted, so now it is one of the safest medications available.

Hello All;

My success with Fumaderm continues, continuing to take 1 x 120 mg every fourth day as a maintenance dose.  I have contemplated dropping the medication entirely but being fearful of a relapse and having to start all over again, choose to continue with the small dose with the advice of my Dermatologist.  During the maintenance period, every once in a while I will get an itchy spot somewhere that may or may not be Psoriasis, which goes away as quickly as it appears.  Therefore, credible to say that I am 100% clear for several years now, after +35 years of Plaque Psoriasis to where I had more than 20% of my body covered with the horrible disease.  Fumaderm may not work for all, but definitely worth the trial effort and perseverance to achieve possible success as in my situation.

I have worked out you have been on a maintenance dose for over 6 years and was wondering if you remember the total time on Fumaderm
