Had a bad nights kip, kept waking up with my shoulders in pain. I decided to find my self a couple of little easy jobs to do around the house, but now my legs, neck, and wrists are also playing up. It's not a huge amount of pain, but enough to annoy me and make me cock things up so I'm taking the day off.

I don't know what has caused this little flare up and to be honest I don't care as I've given up trying to work out what causes it, I also have a little flair up of psoriasis too in my toes, back of one ear, front lower legs arm pits and in my groin. Again not to much but it's a flare up and bloody annoying.  Angry

Obviously this has caused my scores to go up.

Psoriasis: Up from 2 to 5

Psoriatic arthritis: Up from 2 to 13

Hey Ho cant have it good all the time can we, that just doesn't happen with psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis.  Rules

Oh and bang goes my theory of it getting worse when it's damp, it does but today it's a nice clear sunny day  Doh

It's your body Fred it's running 48 hours behind the weather , just wait until it catches up.

Big Grin At my pace that aint gonna happen. Big Grin

Well Fred, if ever you should change your mind, the raw DMF continues to work for me. I have a suspicion now that the most unpleasant side effects of the drug are related to a slowed gastic emptying: With an increased rate of gastic emptying the side effects are greatly reduced. I'd go as far as speculating that delayed gastric emptying is a side effect of the drug itself, which attenuates in time if you can tough it out. This would suggest that if you could combine the drug with a substance that increases gastric emptying you could reach a therapeutic dose much quicker, perhaps even straight away. It may also be a means of allowing larger doses. The question of toxicity aside, the larger dose seems to better control the arthritis. In any event I am improving so maybe I should not be such an impatient guinea pig?

Cheers,

Bill

Thank you Bill but your option is not for me, I admire you sticking with it but I don't think it's something I would want to try myself. I did think about it last time I started getting locked up, but decided I would rather stay under my health care system than go it alone. And I don't think I would last long on any form of DMF anyway as the stomach issues are something that would put me off.

The tummy upset can be a problem, but the fact that its severity is so varied suggests that it could be very well managed if the cause is understood.

Cheers,

You see Fred your body has now caught up with the present , what it is Fred you have not allowed for leap years over time and it's just adjusting itself .

Yes it is, trouble is I don't know what caused it. But then like I keep telling myself I have given up trying to work it out, but can't stop thinking how handy it would be if I could just find the trigger.

Oh well I shall pass the information on to my dermatologist next visit.

That could be it, I always forget to change my clocks too. Rolleyes

But I still have to disagree with your theory, I'm far to slow to catch up with anything. Sleep

Good to see you on the improve, Fred. I can bring on a serve of arthritis within a day or so with a couple of pieces of low cost bread (so I tend to avoid it). It seems to be the preservatives as I am okay with sourdough and stuff I make myself.

Cheers,

Bill
