Bit random but has anybody experienced hair loss cause by their P?

I have been clear of P for about 6 years on adlimumab and have recently had a breakout of guttate P after being ill for a few days. At the same time as the P coming back i developed a bald patch the size of a coin in my beard, this has grown to about the size of a tea bag.

Ive had a beard since i left school, this is doing my head in!

Not sure that I will be of any help, but I have had scalp psoriasis and never lost any hair because it. But I would be interested if there is a link.

This friday I spoke to a girl who also had psoriasis. And she told me that during an outbreak she had quite some hair loss.
For her that came back later again.
Don’t know what kind of psoriasis she then had.

Hi Yorkshire Lad. I had lots of hair loss including my beard years ago when I was taking an anti-rejection drug called cyclosporine that they used to use for P but when I had to stop taking it the hair grew back. Not come across your particular combination of problem hope that it grows back you get very attached to your beard  Big Grin .
Have you had any P under your beard, shaved mine off a few years ago when I had it very bad under the beard and scalp but it's back again now..

Sometimes the broken skin of psoriasis attracts other infections like fungal - is it possible that’s happened? I’ve had to use steroid cream combined with an anti fungal in the past on inverse P (not that it involved hair los..) so I wonder if it’s something like that going on?

Interesting... I have had scalp psoriasis for some time.  I've noticed a little thinning but wasn't certain if psoriasis is the issue or just aging for me.  The lymph nodes on one side of the back of my neck was sore and swollen and I wondered if perhaps I had an infection on my scalp.  So I did a bit of research and found that it was possibly the issue (fungal infection as mentioned by Turnedlight) so I switched to a tea tree oil shampoo.  It's also "suppose" to help support hair growth but as I've just started using it I can't say if it will help with that or not.  My lymph nodes are indeed less swollen and sore.  Not sure it that is coincidence or if the shampoo actually helped any.

I do think my issue for thinning hair is a combination of age and me scratching thereby damaging the hair.  Confused  I'm not certain how much of an issue is actually associated with psoriasis for me but I wouldn't rule it out.
