How long did you wait for the third shot?

My third shot was 4 weeks after the second.

My booster is scheduled for next week. Needed to wait till Oct 1 so it was 6 months after last shot and so I made it for Oct 6th since I have a doctor's appointment that day to save us a trip.

Although places have been giving the boosters here in the US for a few weeks to just about anyone according to people on social media, they have just been approved this week for people 65 and over or people with one of the conditions listed by the CDC to warrant a booster (and 6 months after last shot) Both Mr. Kat and I qualify (him due to age, me to conditions)

Sorry I should have explained.

Only those with immune problems or on immunosuppressants were offered a booster 4 weeks after their second jab.

Last month the third jab was offered to everyone over 65 and I think it's soon going to be everyone.

Just wanted to clarify. Smile

Good to know Fred! I thought everyone could get it in France for some reason.

@Jim, they said it was fine to get the covid booster and flu shot at the same time, but I decided to wait two weeks before I get my flu jab. Talked it over with Mr Kat and he said by only getting one if we had a reaction or side effect then we'd know which one caused it. That made sense to me so decided to do them at different times. (We're not expecting any issues however)

Probably the way I worded it and didn't explain properly Kat.

I have just checked on the government website and this what they say about the new booster (not the one I had 4 weeks after my second shot)

The booster dose should be given 6 months after the last vaccine injection or 4 weeks after the single Janssen injection.

The Covid-19 vaccine booster campaign started on September 1, 2021

The vaccine booster corresponds to the administration of an additional vaccine injection for eligible persons, that is to say:
  • Residents of accommodation establishments for dependent elderly people (nursing homes) and long-term care units
  • People 65 and over living at home
  • People at very high risk of severe illness
  • People with co-morbidities that increase the risk of severe forms of Covid-19
  • Severely immunocompromised people (who have already received three doses will receive a fourth)
  • People who have received the Janssen vaccine. A booster with a vaccine to mRNA (Pfizer or Moderna) is recommended from 4 weeks after 1 st injection.

The booster shots are done only with messenger RNA vaccines, either Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna.

Does that mean you will get a fourth shot?
