How confident do you feel talking to others about psoriasis ?

I never used to be confident talking about psoriasis, but I have found the longer I have had it and the older I get the more I'm happy to talk to others about it.

I used to hide it and not talk about and was embarrassed feeling alone with it ... but with age and being on this forum and knowing through being here that I'm not the only one who suffers with it. I am now very open about it and surprised when I mention it how many people I speak to say they also have it.

I used to try and hide it too!  Would not wear skirts or dresses unless they covered my legs until I hit a certain age and said to myself screw it....let them look and ask.

I am glad to provide information and even help.  that being said, my psoriasis patches are all gone therefore, I don't get approached anymore.

I also noticed over time at work (I work in a 4 phase building with lots of towers, all interconnected so there are lots of people) that a lot of people have skin issues (eczema, psoriasis, vitiligo, etc)

I do still attempt to cover it. But I have no issue with discussing it. I'm not in any way ashamed of it sometimes embarrassed as the scalp psoriasis looks like a really REALLY bad case of dandruff at times but when it's bad I try to wear light colors.

I will talk to anyone who asked me about it, but I dont go shouting it from the rooftops.

I have no problems flashing my blotchy legs when the weather permits. It's up to those with the horrified looks to get over them selves not me.
