Even if it was available I don't think you should take DMF whilst on Cosentyx anyway. But maybe the DMF gang know more.

No, Cosentyx and DMF at the same time does not seem sensible. It is like shooting with two alike cannons at the same target.

It is probably available as Tecfidera for a different indication. Maybe in the future Almirall will spread its business. Who knows?

It is actually available for MS.   But with Cosentyx and azathioprine already, I won't touch DMF.  Will see how it goes with Raynaud this winter and go from there!

Awww KatT, you poor lady you. Confused

I’ve heard of Raynauds, my cousin has it.

She says that it drives her nuts, the pain, the numbing etc, so, I bought her a pair of sheepskin gloves because wool is natural and warms her hands up nicely.

I’m not saying that the gloves are a miracle cure or whatever but it’s something to consider.

BIG GB hug for you KatT  Bigarm  fingers crossed that you’re not in to much pain flower ?

I do wear gloves when outside but wouldn't be practical at work or home?   How would be able to reply to all your nice posts    Kiss

The Raynaud is simply annoying.

I am in constant pain and sometimes have trouble going up and down the stairs at home.   That being said, I have a very high tolerance for pain and don't complain much, just endure. But I am tired of:

1. Being in pain
2. Not sleeping well or sometimes not sleeping at all because of the pain
3. Having to ask my better half to do a bunch of simple things such as opening jars, lifting items that I should be able to lift but can't cause it feels like my wrists are going to break, etc
4. Stairs.....starting to hate them!

.
.

But, I keep saying there could be worse things than arthritis and keep going  Smile

KatT I remember you saying you had recently increased the dose of Cosentyx. I'm not sure how long you moved up to 300mg, but I think you should soon start getting some relief. Smile

Sometimes I wonder just how much one diagnosis of something can cause or be associated with another diagnosis. Simply put since psoriasis is an auto immune disease, does that make us more susceptible to other things (not necessarily immune related although a lot of things are immune related)

Hopefully the Cosentyx will at least give you relief from the psoriatic arthritis as it seems to work well for that Smile

Yes it does Kat. It is called comorbidity. Next week I will be going to a lecture on that subject at a gathering for world Psoriasis day.

Comorbidities can be other auto immune diseases like, Crohns. But also heart related problems and perhaps even more.
Therefore it is important to stay in shape when you have Psoriasis.

@KatT, yes, I thought DMF in the form of Tecfidera would be available at your side. Extremely expensive though, I think it is $ 10,- per pill of 120 mg.
You should ask Bill, our local psoriasisclub mad scientist, how much his pills are costing. Big Grin

A bit over 3 cents US per week, and given I miss several weeks of dosing per year, a bit under $1-50 US per year. Funnily enough, consuming industrial chemicals isn't a common pastime.

A lot cheaper than biologics.  Will continue with my current treatment and hopefully it will work for the arthritis and reduce the Raynaud episodes!

Will monitor Raynaud more closely to see if there is improvement.
