I’m not really a cowboy, it’s just an avatar. I’m really a middle aged urban Texan (having lived in NYC, LA, Wash DC, San Fran, as well as Houston and various DFW ‘burbs.), although I have Tx cred via various relatives. Diagnosed w psoriasis as a teen, and PsA at midlife. It ebbs and flows, and I am not entirely certain any of my meds are doing much to control it. So glad I found this forum, bc I don’t know anyone else who has it, that I can talk to, who understands.

Hello GirlFromTexas  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

Cowboys, Cowgirls, Anyone they are all welcome here, we know how you feel and we also know how important it is to find real people just like you and here we are. I have heard of most of the places you mention but not "DFW" so I'm a bit lost there.

You will find a good mix of people from around the world and a very friendly bunch they are too. Just dive on in and get to know us, you will find a warm welcome.

I can recommend the [Group Specific] board of you want to get to know some of our members. But be warned, I'm the only sensible one in there.

Regards.

Fred

Hello GirlfromTexas,

Welcome to psoriasisclub. One of the most relaxed forums among Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis sufferers.
We can be very serious, but we also love a banter now and then, as you can see on what Fred is mentioning about being the sensible one.
On the serious side we have gathered an immense knowledge on our disease and we have an own opinion on treatments that even may differ from the ones that specialists are prescribing. As we see all medication from the viewpoint of ourselves.

Enjoy your stay over here with us.

Cheers,
Caroline

DFW is local slang for Dallas- Ft Worth metroplex, and includes many large cities / suburbs (Arlington, Plano, Irving, Richardson, Denton, Frisco, Lewisville to name a few), all interwoven in a diffuse 12 county urban sprawl of 7.5 million people inhabiting concrete sky-scrapers, concrete highways, non descript low-rise office complexes and millions of nearly identical suburban tract homes. Roughly the size of Conn + R. I., it feels like SoCal but with a worse climate, and is the 4th largest metropolitan area in the US. It’s pretty ugly, very few trees, grass is brown more often than green, but has a thriving economy, a cheap cost of living, and growing in population every day.

Sort of helps, but as I live in the French countryside I get lost going to my nearest City. Big Grin

Hi GirlFromTexas . welcome to the friendly  psoriasisclub the site where there is the most comprehensive information on P and PsA than anywhere else I know. No con artists just people from all over the world who have the same problems so any questions are answered from experience not from hearsay. Welcome from the East Yorkshire coast of the UK

Hi GirlFromTexas good to see you have found your way here  ,as everyone had said you have come to the right place where there are lots of us with the same problem and dealing with it in various different ways. But there's always someone not far away to listen
You don't say what meds you are on although you say you don't think they are doing any good
Often with the disease its possible for whatever you are taking to stop working. Most of us have had that experience, but there are so many advances in drugs to control it that you should be able to find one to suit you
I look forward to hearing more from you
Jim

Edit just read your other post and see you're on Cosentyx but suffering with forgetfulness. It's not something I've heard anyone else suffering from that takes it. So it could be caused by something else so it would be wise to get checked by your doctor
