Hi

I'm not quite sure how I go about deleting an account on this forum?  Anybody know how it can be done?

Cheers

This  may explain why you can't just delete an account

Quote:

The registration agreement clearly states "You agree your account can not be deleted without exceptional circumstances."

Let me try to explain why we have this in place. If people delete an account and they have made posts on the forum, those posts are stored in the database and have with the exception of members only boards or PMs been picked up by search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, Etc. That information is how people find Psoriasis Club, that's how you probably found us.

So lets say you searched Google for Fumaderm and found a link to an interesting page on Psoriasis Club that had just what you were looking for. Now imagine that when you click that link you get a 404 Page Not Found result! I don't think you would be very happy and would probably walk away from Psoriasis Club. Google would also drop our ranking from searches as we would be producing to many 404s and other people would struggle to find us.

Psoriasis Club is self funded, free from sponsors, we don't ask for any donations, and it is a safe friendly place for people with psoriasis with some valuable pieces of information. It's the members that make Psoriasis Club what it is, and yes we have people with different views and some who may struggle with the English language. But they are people just like you sharing information or seeking support, and your information about your treatments could be very helpful to them and other visitors to the forum.

Hope that helps

Kit I'm not sure why you are requesting the deletion of your account, but like Jim said it does say we don't delete account and has listed the reasons why.

I notice you have also sent me a PM so I will have a read of that and answer you there once I have had chance to read through it as opposed to in this thread as your PM is more personal in it's content.

You are however still welcome to post in this thread if you prefer, but I have to remind you that anything posted here is visible in the public domain and will remain so.

Fred.
