Diagnosed in 2007 with Psoriasis and Psoriatic arthritisa after GP thought it was a fungal infection. Tried various creams, sulfasalazine, methotrexate tablets and then injections but couldn't not tolerate the nausea and just feeling crap/hungover all the time so stopped. Coped without medication for a few years and then separated from wife suddenly , Psoriasis flared on shins , back , scalp - about 6 months after started getting pains and stiffness in lower back/hips/pelvis area and upper neck and shoulders also very tired and run down - diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis ... so today i should get cosentyx - currently only taking naproxen and tramadol - hopefully can kick the tramadol into touch soon :Smile

Hello ferrari312  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I've done very well on Cosntyx and I hope it works as well for you too. Don't hesitate to start a thread on Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis to monitor your prgress if you wish.

If you feel like a change from psoriasis I can recommend the [Group Specific] where you will find something to amuse you. You will also find a great bunch of people, so just dive on in. *If you do go thre I'm the sensible one.  Smile

Regards.

Fred.

Hi ferrari312 and Welcome

It's always rubbish when you have a flare up but I think there are a lot of treatments available so you should fing one you can live with. Also sorry to hear about your split mate, that certainly won't have helped.

PS - I can help take the the tramadol off your hands, best pain killer I ever had!!!! Confused <------- This is a light hearted comment, I do not advocate the taking of drugs for recreational purposes.

Hi and welcome to the club ferrari , I am sure that Cosentyx will be ok for you as everyone who has or is using it have had really good results. I take Stelara fantastic for P but it does not help the PsA so I take Tramadol and used to take naproxen until that gave me stomach ulcers.
Have a good look around as there is more information on P and PsA and all the treatments than anywhere that I have come across, Fred has done a great job and there is nobody trying to sell you useless crap mind you most of the inmates are barmy with the exception of a few sensible ones like me.

Welcome to the Club Ferrari  Wave . So sorry to hear of your recent troubles. I'm sure once you have started on Cosentyx, you should start to get your life back and get off the pain killers.

Welcome ferrari,

P, PSA, and AS are related, and secukinumab gets a really good rap, so it will be very interesting to see how you progress.

Best wishes,

Bill

Thanks for the warm welcome all.

If I can get my act together I will put together a progress report - took some snaps of my psoriasis for reference.

First injection on Friday afternoon - nothing much to report which is to be expected.

Cheers
