After my last trip to the rheumy, i've been swapped from Sulfasalazine to leflunomide.
fingers crossed it is more successful  Smile

i am also being scheduled in for a shot to my thumb, have others had much success with steroid injections? my thumb is pretty much useless now and i'm hoping the shot will let me at least be able to move it

Yes, I have had one in my finger. It hurts but it did help quickly. The finger is still slightly stiffer than my other fingers. In the end, the treatment with DMF did more for my finger(s) than the steroid shots.

Leflunomide does help non axial joints with PsA - much better chance of it working than with the previous drug.

well, i had the shot in my thumb yesterday.
i did a silly thing and watched YouTube videos before going and basically was pooping myself about it all... in reality, it was nowhere near as bad as i had feared. it was far from pleasant, but overall bearable... and ached like buggery after, but is ok this morning. i am trying not to use it today, but that isn't going well  Confused

hopefully it will give enough relief till the Leflunomide builds up. (and i'm hoping it works better than the Sulfasalazine)

overall.... feeling very optimistic  Big Grin

Good to hear that it went well and not as bad as you feared. Hopefully it will give you the use of your thumb again and then the Leflunomide will hopefully give you more relief

I look forward to your next update and hope it is positive  Thumb
