Hi and thankyou all for your kind advice, I do use fairy non bio and persil as its about the only ones I can cope with. I can't use majority of moisturizers as my skin reacts to pretty much everything!  I am definitely going to push my doctor about this to see a dermatologist I have read the links from Fred and find them very useful thankyou I also take vitamin D and use sunbed which I know is not right but feel i have no other option as you get nowhere with the doctors it does help but again have to keep moisturizing every half hour as its like my skin just drinks it straight away. I have eczema on my hands and in the creases of my arms also so have to be very careful what I do and use.

Yes, well then if you do all the things to increase your vitamins D level, and still it is active like with you, then you really need something stronger. So the help of a dermatologist is needed. But be critical. You can always discuss over here on what to talk about with your dermatologist.

Cheers,
Caroline

I agree with Caroline it's certainly time to put the pressure on your GP to get a referral and with the NHS it might take a bit of time for the appointment, but use the time wisely while waiting and come here and ask questions, look through the prescribed treatments here on this link. Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis.......then ask us if you have any questions.
When you do see the dermatologist explain to rheum that your doctor has prescribed creams over years and they just don't work....tell them you are at the end of your tether and are desperate for something to work...the more needy you appear the better chance of not being sent away with a tube of cream

Good luck Thumb

I have used all sorts too help keep it under control, it can really get me down alot and I wouldn't even dream of going swimming or wear dresses these days.
Welcome Natalielouise to our group I also had psorosis so bad on my back, legs I was given all kinds of creams and ointments nothing helped. My dermatologist put me on Embrel it's an injection 50 mg I self inject every Saturday and it has really helped me but so very expensive here in America.Cost $6000 a month for four injection thank goodness I have insurance.Sometime the drug companies will help out depending on income.I think they should make the drugs we need at an affordable price but doubt that will ever happen.Big drug companies just care about making money.I hope you can get the care you need.Glad you joined our group they have really helped me.
