Hi everyone!

My name's Jenna, and I just discovered Psoriasis Club today. I'm currently a college student, and have been struggling with psoriasis for over eight years. Currently, it covers almost all of my face, most of my body, my scalp, inside my ears, etc.

Recently, I found an amazing dermatologist (I've had really bad luck in the past) who finally admitted that I have severe psoriasis. This was the first time a doctor had ever really taken it seriously. Soon, I'll be starting injections, and my dermatologist thinks I'll be basically plaque free in about six weeks. Obviously it's not a cure, but I'm so excited to finally have some hope of a working treatment!

Other than my psoriasis, everything is great! I'm a communication major, and loving it. I'm a HUGE animal lover, music nerd, Netflix connoisseur, coffee addict, and book fanatic. I'm so happy to be here and to meet new people! Please feel free to ask me anything; I'm super open and excited to talk.

Hi Jenna,

I see that you are Blush with excitement being here. Smile
Really great such an enthousiast new member.
Fred has already mowed the first question away right before my feet.
We are all curious what you are getting on medication.
Next question, as you are a child of this time, did you search on internet on what kind of medication you are getting ?
It is always good to be knowledged, the time of the doctors being the one to decide over our treatments is almost gone now. We patients appear to have a voice and an opinion.

You'll find yourself over here in a fun forum, you probably are one of the youngest members now. We have them of all ages and of all places over the world. As you are in the US of A, you will have to get used perhaps that in your daytimes it is the most crowded over here, as for most of the European members it is evening then. And as lots are evening people they come crawling out of their holes and start bantering around.

Have a good time over here !

Caroline

Welcome Jenna to probably the most comprehensive information on P and PsA that i know. Any questions that you want an answer will be answered by people who have got the problem and can say it as it is. Most of the inmates are barmy but friendly so just dive in and look around, very interested to know what sort of injections you are talking about but bear in mind that what works for one does not necessarily work for another and that goes for side effects as well, we are all different .

Enjoy yourself .

Hi everyone!

I will be going on Humira. I have done a ton of research on different treatments, tried a ton of different things, and nothing has made much of a difference so far. I've looked into all of my options, and, considering the severity of my psoriasis, I decided injections would be the best way to go.

I'm a big fan of the Bio treatments (injections) they have given me my life back.  Smile

You can read more about Humira and the others here: Biological Treatments For Psoriasis

Don't hesitate to start a thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis about your journey, it's a good way of keeping track of your progress and your information could help others.

Good luck with Humira.  Thumb
