Your site is great Fred even though it does have a bare bear on it.

Yes I know the one you mean but there is also another one which is more relevant to Europe (sorry UK in your case) information. I'll PM you the link.

As for the bare bear I have tried to chain him up, but people are not happy with chained bears these days so I have to let him run around the corridors now and then. But I will look at getting him a wire wool thong.

It's only fair Fred to let him roam after all if Jim can do it in his pink tu tu then its the least you can do.

I should leave it out Jim until the weather gets warmer as it may freeze your particulars.

Hi Jim,

I was replacing the timing belt on my Fiat when you posted this. The lack of FDA approval relates to fumaric esters for psoriasis, not rrms. The concern about lymphopaenia seems overblown as the risk is very small, you need to have it for at least six months, and there are symptoms of lymphopaenia like fatigue and susceptibility to colds which dont require a blood test. There is some uncertainty about low grade damage, hence your MRI scan and my agreement with you of the prudence of maintaining a high count. What I find out about the lymphocyte count and sun exposure might prompt further comment.

Cheers,

Bill

Hope you've got your fiat back on the road again, and timed right Bill Confused

I think you are replying to this RE: Jim's journal
Yes you we right it's been blown out of proportion as there are far more cases of PML related to other drugs used for the treatment of psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis. The risks are low but nevertheless I think anything they offer by way of screening is fine by me.

Yes in all the cases I've read the monitoring was poor unlike mine which is slightly more than needed

Yes, fine now Jim, although I will probably check it in a week or two and make sure the tensioner is still set correctly. Personally I think that Biogen should be forking out for the MRI scans. The data collected will give a better determination of the safety of DMF, so it just looks like free research being done for Biogen.

Cheers,

Bill

I agree Bill  they produce a drug. Charge a high price for it and health services around the world pick up the monitoring bill..... but poor cash strapped Biogen can't afford that
I was just reading that their projected turnover for the MS. Drug will be over 4 billion for this one drug,  for this year alone ..... not bad when the raw product is extremely cheap

And the production of exactly the same medicine over with us is 20 times as cheap.
The price has been made because it should be in line with the other treatments for MS, if suddenly a cheap medication would be available then the other really more expensive medications would hardly be used anymore.
You are really in trouble if you have MS.
