The others are right, unfortunately. Otezla is one of the newer biologicals, so if you never had systemic treatment, they probably want you to take one of the cheaper first. I am starting mtx now, cause only after that the path is free to the biologicals. 

So start a conversation with your dermatologist, there are quite a few treatments out there to start with.

is there anything new about this drug?  I was placed in a program to be accepted for it's program.  I understand it is very expensive so I don't know yet if I qualify

If you put Otezla or Apremilast in the Search you will find a lot of threads about it.

I underwent over 5 months of light treatments, along with Dovobet with very little relief.  I have liver issues therefore other drugs won't be prescribed to me.  That is why I'm being reviewed for this drug.

Cross your fingers I get it and some relief.  I know it isn't a cure
