Hello, my name is Madeline, I have been diagnosed with pustular psoriasis since April this year. I have it in one area on the heal of my foot.
I have been prescribed Clobovate and cloboderm since then with no affect.
Today after visiting a dermatologist he has advised clobovate-exorex-dovonex in a monthly rotation also using doing film or similar. Please keep fingers crossed as at present it it very sore to walk.

Hi Madeline and a warm  Welcome to the club it looks as if you are getting Steroid cream with the Clobovate I'm not sure about the other one
But if you don't see an improvement in a couple of weeks I would suggest to get back to the dermatologist and see if he can offer an alternative

Enjoy the club you will be made welcome throughout the various boards .we are a very friendly bunch happy to share and advise from a sufferers perspective
Hope you get some more answers and meantime I have my fingers crossed for you

Hello Madeline Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

That sounds an odd way to go about things to me, but it's worth a try.

Good luck I hope it works for you.

Regards.

Fred.

Hi Madeline,

Welcome to psoriasisclub,
Hopefully your PP is not yet spread sofar, so you indeed may be able to treat it with creams.
Anyway, know that there are a lot of treatment out there, that may be helpful.
Over here with us you can chat about them, as there is always someone around with the right experience.

Have fun and do visit the Off Topic section for some chatting around.

Hi Madeline and welcome to the club Wave  .

Not heard of Clobovate and I thought I'd had all the creams known to man. I have used Exorex in the dim and distant past, I think it is a coaltar type concoction. It was used on my elbow plaques and to be honest, like all the others it was worse than useless. Like Jim has said if a cream is going to work, you will notice an improvement fairly quickly. If its not working after a month of use I think there is a fair chance it probably wont. Don't forget to use a good moisturiser. If you moisturise 1/2 an hour or so before applying the creams will be better absorbed and improve their efficacy. Thumb

Hi Madeleine
I also suffer with this type of Psoriasis - i tried all the steroid creams but to no avail.
My palms and soles/heels of my feet were awful and I was in awful pain and shed skin like crazy.

I have been on Acitretin for 12 weeks now and my skin has finally stopped shedding and I am not in pain

I use the raw unrefined coconut oil to keep my skin moisturised overnight

Good luck with your treatment but if the creams don't work go back to your Dermo to discuss alternatives.

Tink x
