Hello, I have had psoriasis for 26 years and had all the usual topical treatments , had 5 treatments of UVB and 1 of uva but took puva pain. Neotigison didn't work and methotrexate caused me liver problems. Now on Stelara and I am very hopeful it works. Had first injection on Friday and don't know if it's my imagination but my skin feels different. Happy to hear any other experiences

Hello SHUG1067  Welcome to Psoriasis Club.

I'm a big fan of Stelara as it gave me my life back. I've been on it 6 years now, you can read my experience here:

Stelara 16 Months On.

Stelara round two

It can start working very quick so yes it is possible you could already be noticing something.  Smile

Regards.

Fred.

*I'll move this thread to Introductions as you posted it as an intro and it may get noticed by others who want to say hello to you. But you are more than welcome to start another thread in Prescribed Treatments For Psoriasis if you wish as it's a good way to monitor your progress and could help others.

Hi Shug and a warm  Welcome to the club, you have come to a great place for advice, we are a very friendly club and all members are happy to share experiences of what works for them and what doesn't.

I have never been on Stelara but we have several members in Stelara and I'm sure they will tell you of their experience and if they think it's working already...

I hope it is and I look forward to hearing how well it does for you  Thumb

If you feel like something a bit light hearted you will find the off topic section is worth a look. And there are lots of things that you are welcome to join in with if you wish ...

Hi and welcome to the forum, you will be made very welcome and just have a look around as there is more information on here than any where else I know, the inmates will try to answer any questions truthfully from the point of experience not theory.
I have been on Stelara now for a few years and it's the only treatment that ever worked to any degree and like you I was on MTX for 9 years and it never worked that well. I have had P and PsA for many years and mine was that bad I have been in hospital three times for 6 weeks at a time and I must have had most treatments available but Stelara is fantastic. It looks like that you have results already ,when I had it I did not see any results until after my second injection at 4 weeks but by the time I was ready for my first 12 week injection I was well on the way to clearance.
The thing to bear in mind is that everyone is different and what works for one does not work for another and the side effects are the same, we are all different.
Welcome and I hope that you enjoy being on the site and you have just met the serious inmate on here , best of luck

Dave
