Sorry to be indelicate, but I think my P has spread to my lady bits. I can be incredibly itchy, which then makes it sore, and it just becomes a vicious circle of scratch, itch, etc. am I safe in using my prescribed steroids (Dovobet and Elocon) or can someone recommend a more natural remedy? I currently suffer from palmar-plantar P but I also have it on my scalp and the odd spot here and there on my body. Thank you.

Hi Artemis and welcome back, I'm afraid I'm not able to answer that question, but I would think that it's not too good an idea although I can understand that an itch there can be very sore, I'm sure some of our lady members may be able to tell you what they use when the problem crops up

Or ask for a referral to a dermatologist and see if they can offer an alternative to creams by way of a systemic treatment such as methotrexate or acetretin

Myself as a man in the past if it gets near any of my tender bits I use coconut oil, and have used Dovonex which is a vitamin A derivative not a steroid and might just help a bit

I hope you get some relief soon.

Well I would not put steroids on my private delicate bits.
The option of coconut oil is better.
What I myself use when it itches occasionally there (it is no doubt a delicate place Smile ) is carefully put some miconazolnitrate powder on the outer itchy parts, for me that helps within a few hours.... This powder is against fungal problems. I really don't know if my problems over there are due to the psoriasis. Luckily it is a minor problem for me.

I would agree Coconut Oil would be a good option, but as already said your best bet is to ask a dermatologists advise.

I'll move this thread to Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics as it's better suited there and may get you more answers.

I concur on the coconut oil. Thumb

It's also good stuff to use in the groin area if you have a sweat rash etc Blush

Coconut oil has so many uses.

One thing to try - cut out oranges/citrus fruit and orange/citrus juice for a while. I was told this can improve soreness below.
