Morning all, I finally managed to get back and see the specialist at my local hospital and they have agreed to put me back on Fumaderm. They basically stated yesterday that if I go back on  the same dose I was on previously then they wouldn't have to apply for funding again as it was seen as a continuation of medication.
This means that I have to take 120mg tablets.
They have initially stated to take 1 tablet every three days and then see how I go. If I tolerate this fairly well then go to 1 tablet every other day until I am eventually on 1 tablet a day.
So I took my first tablet yesterday and had a minor flush and upset stomach but I could handle it,so I don't know whether to just take another one today? What do people think? Keen to get this under control as soon as possible.
I'm also trying to find instructions for fumaderm in English, does anyone have these or can anyone provide a link to these.

Thanks.

Ok I've found instructions in English.
Looking at these I'll go with the doctors recommendations I think.

I can't remember if you mentions before how long you had been off the fumaderm but I agree with some caution.
Did you have your blood monitored before starting if not I would get your GP to check them

I think it's  a good idea sticking with the doctors regimen , but I'm glad you are at least back on it again and hopefully you will get back to a controlling dose soon, and get back to a clear skin

I'm glad you have read the leaflet

Oh there's more info I  the link you have supplied. I'll take a proper look later, Thanks.
Yes I went and had a blood test before taking fumaderm.
I'm on holiday from the 4th August and desperately hoping for some improvement before then.

Good luck depending on how covered you are there is a good chance you could be clearing by then, with a little help from the natural sunshine ( but don't overdo it) and it's an accepted practice to use calcipotriol cream to help get clearance whilst on Fumaderm
I will try to find the link for you

Thanks Jim. I've ordered some dovonex as the exorex isn't really doing anything apart from drying my skin out severely.
Currently in week two and taking 1x blue tablet a day. Only getting the occasional flush and upset stomach.
Psoriasis still at full steam ahead and breaking out everywhere?
Hoping I start to see some improvement soon and as I'm tolerating it ok I'm thinking of asking if I can take 2 X blue a day to try and clear it a bit quicker. Hoping I'm not starting to run before I can walk.

Great stuff hopefully you will start to see an improvement soon, but you are a long way from the maximum dose and at only week 2 ....I know you haven't started with the initial tablets because of funding so you will need to take care with the build up as your system has to adapt to the drug, but you seem to be tolerating it well, with just minor side effects...

What has your dermatologist said about increasing the dose ? Will you increase to 2 tablets at the end  of the next week and then increase in line with the recommendations on the leaflet,in my opinion that would be sensible

But as I said earlier it's not a fast working drug but it is extremely effective and hopefully should see some clearance before your holiday

The specialist said to see how I was coping and to ring them again if I wanted to try increasing the dose
They only provided enough for one a day though.
I had far worse flushes when I was on this last time round so I think I'll go with the same dose this week and then call them to see what they say.

As long as your bloods were good when you started and the side effects are minimal I would certainly be asking to increase the dose, to at least slow the breakout down. As the disease is unlikely to get clear on a low dose,
