But then again I suppose as it's such a cheap drug it would put the cost up as there are different dosing regimes.

I asked why each tablet was such a low dose as there were larger 25mg tablets available and was told that would cause problems and make it easier to overdose by taking 6 of the 25mg rather than 6 of the 5mg

That's a silly argument for them to come back with, why would you take 6 of them if you had one 25mg tablet on its own in a blister pack that says 'one a week'?

After all, things like blood pressure tablets are manufactured in different dose levels but you don't see people being given them in little bottles and being asked to take several if they are on a higher dose - they are one a day at whatever dose you are on.

Mtx could be one a week, of whatever dose you take. I believe loose tablets in little bottles carry more risk of misunderstanding and overdose.

I know it's daft but that's why they wouldn't give me the larger tablets so I had to take 10 a week not an easy thing when you are loathing them

Bloody hell Jim I thought that I was on a high dose at 25mg , I didn't realise that they used 50mg a week for P no wonder you loathed them. I eventually got the nausea and sickness with the injections Fred and that's why I came of it but I still say that it's a good alternative.

You made me think there Dave 10 X 2.5 mg tablets the same as you were on 25 mg ....I had to get my fingers out to count though Whistle

You are right Jim it must have been the gin last night that has muddled my mind not that it takes at a lot of doing nowadays ,I am surprised that they did not suggest the single injection for you which would have been much better . I dropped the injection size in the last year to a 20mg injection to try to sort out the side effects but it made no difference but I still think that MTX has it's place.

MTX kills cells that divide fast. Unfortunately, your stomach contains what MTX kills first. In the end, doesn't matter if you inject or take pills, if you take enough... The only thing I like about the shot, it's easier to get the proper dose.
