Welcome Mark to the forum, you should find the answers on here as Fred has put together what I would describe as the most comprehensive information on P/PsA that you will find anywhere . All this is supported by the inmates who ,because they have the problems, can speak from experience not theory , they are all barmy but don't bite with just some of us that are sensible and serous .
All the best Mark, just have a look around and ask away.

Welcome Mark

Glad you found us. Sadly we are all in the same boat in having this disease. What you will learn as I did, very quickly is that there is always someone who will be able to guide you or point you in the right direction. Please don't be afraid to ask any questions, there is no such thing as a dumb question on here Wink  .
I read with interest that you were on Acitretin for 15 years there are couple of us on here that are just starting with this medication, would you be willing to share any of your experiences on it? I'm going through the dry lips and fraying hands at the moment but the Ps does seem to be heading in the right direction.

Regards
JohnB

Hi John,
The Acitretin was good for me. I don't remember the dry lips and nose lasting long. I had to have 3 monthly fasting blood tests to check on my liver and cholesterol level, but other than that just a 6 monthly check up. I was never totally clear of the psoriasis but could fluctuate between 25 mg per day to 50 mg to keep it in check. Only trouble was that only when they found bone spurs on my spine was I told I shouldn't have been on it so long and I should have had annual x-Ray's to check my spine. Worth asking about that if it hasn't been mentioned to you before.
Hope that helps.
Mark

Hello Mark,

Im a little bit new to P club as well, but I know that there are lots of people here with great advice or just to chat to.  I have P on the back of my hands and when its really bad I smother them in a good moisturiser and wear cotton gloves, obviously this is done over night.

Im going to try the coconut oil as well so lets know how you get on.

so...Welcome again.
