There is a story on the net of a fellow in his early 60s <He was in his 60s, non-drinker, non-smoker, healthy diet, active.>who died from MTX complications 3 1/2 weeks after his first dose (5*2.5 mg total dosage). Yes, this is an outlier as the chance of death with long term use (~5 years) is ~1/700, but the chance of a potentially fatal episode is ~2% over the same period. 11% of users have treatment discontinued due to organ damage. Despite this, you are twice as likely to die without treatment. I'd rather take my considerably better chance with DMF. Apologies for going off topic, Fred.

I would like to see some of the statistics so I can discuss it with my dermatologist!

If you do some searching on Internet by means of Google or another search engine like DuckDuckGo, you will find a lot of info on both MTX as well as DMF.

Hi guys, longtime no talk. May 28th I start my maintenance schedule whcich consists of 1 shot every 30 days. Cosentyx stated to me that my derm prescribed me 300 MG every 30 days which is not "typical" , it is usually 150mg only unless you have a severe case. So I am going to try taking 150mg shots at first and see how that goes (the less drug I have in my body the better off I am IMO) The red in my legs is almost gone and I am still clear everywhere. No side effects have popped up yet thank God.

I think 300 is needed for psoriatic arthritis, but I'm not sure.
