Welcome  Michael

I'm with the rest of the crowd as far as diet is concerned, I think you will be flogging a dead horse - but - I have noticed on a few occasions particularly with beer my itchiness quotent goes up by an order of magnitude.
40% is an awful lot to cope with and personally I think it borders on cruelty that they sent you home with creams Angry .

As Jim has said they will probably want to put you through the UV route first, it can be quite successful on some people, give it a go, but with that amount I would be thinking at looking into the oral treatments, do your homework and go to your next dermy appointment armed with some questions and a couple of ideas on how you want treating. I have always foundit better to go with a partner / friend or even a parent if it came to it . I dont know why but they seem to take a bit more notice of what you have to say when there is sombody else in the picture.

Anyways most of us are tame and house trained so feel free to join us in the Off Topic section for a chat or a giggle Thumb

Nice to see someone from my home county [Image: m0152.gif]

Not sure which dermatology you visit, Christchurch or Dorchester or somewhere else even.

Hydromol Ointment is ok for having a bath in, i use to put it neat on myself & let it soak in a couple of years ago.

Now, i use Aveeno body wash & Aveeno bath oil..........ask your GP to prescribe it to you Mike.

If you can, purchase some Biona raw virgin coconut oil for moisterising on your plaques, it's brilliant stuff. I'm sure Fred will PM you the link Big Grin

Enjoy yourself on here & ask any questions you have on P mate

I have purchased the Biona raw coconut oil today , I have been on my current treatment for 6 months , How long should I leave it until I speak with Consultant ,regarding other forms of Treatment !
Do you know if there is any evidence that Gluten and dairy products make p worse or is it an individual matter .

Myself it I was under the dermatologist and the treatment I was on was not working as well as it should, and as we are talking about steroid creams, which are meant for short term treatment......
I would be on the phone telling them it wasn't working and I needed some therapy that will give relief  Confused

I don't know when your next scheduled visit to dermatology is but I would certainly try to get it brought forward ....in the meantime read the posts here and arm yourself with details of what is available, ask questions here , someone will give you an answer, we don't have all the answers but there is a lot of experience here and a willingness to share

Diet has never had an effect on my psoriasis, I eat and drink what I fancy .
But we are all different and some say modifying their diet has helped

Hello Michael,

Christchurch is / was brilliant. I was last admitted on the derm ward back in 2009 but sadly they closed it.

A great shame really as the crew there were fantastic. (food was pants though)

I think they even named the ward after the retired Sister Slade ? Stern, firm (like Hattie Jaques from the carry on's) but by god did she care for us P sufferers.

Sorry, can't help you ref gluten mate but there are posts & threads on diet, gluten etc on here.

Glad you got some Biona raw coconut oil Michael, it's great stuff.

Keep us all posted on what's happening mate Thumb

andy
