The diaper creams leave a protective coating to help protect against wetness so I imagine it would be a bit messy. I think creams can help with itchiness and discomfort but I don't know how much any of them help with clearing, if at all. I use Coconut Oil to moisturize which helps keep the dryness down so helps it not be so itchy, but also my psoriasis is very mild and just a bit around the scalp area. For me any good moisturizing cream helped about the same as the prescription ointments I started on to be honest. I like the coconut oil as I get the same results with less additives that are found in creams and such.

*Danny it's no big deal but it would be better to post new threads in the other boards as it will get noticed better. I will move this to Psoriasis And Psoriatic Arthritis Topics for you.

Diaper creams typically include zinc oxide (anti fungal). Supposedly it works for psoriasis, however I found extended use damages the skin and causes flares.

Yes I've found sudocrem (not the tube, the one in the tub) very soothing during a flare where other creams 'burn'. However, I haven't seen it as helping my skin to clear. It's mucky stuff, but soothes the itch and helped me to sleep.

Used Desitin a diaper rash cream with zinc for many years for P. It's a skin protectant. Especially when p itches or raw. It works great. It softens and peals away layers of build up skin. It's a bit messy.I wear cotton gloves for hands at night and cover other areas at with clear wrap like occlusion. On the bottom of my feet cover Desitin with clear wrap and wear socks. In my experience it's one way to manage P.
