Thanks M

I dont know what Stelara is, but is it that particular drug that cleared up the skin discolouration, or do you think once any of the P drugs have gotten the P under control, the skin discolouration naturally clears up anyways ?

Just a thought

If you have virtually no psoriasis and little to no pink spots, then yes it just takes time.

Stelara is a biological. It inhibits a certain receiver sticking out of the cell membrane.
There is a reasonable chance that finally you may clear up totally, but it will take time.

But it is very super that it is working so good for you ! Clap
And with so few side effects Smile really fantastic!

It's hard to explain the difference between active psoriasis especially if you are on systemic treatment. The light pink stuff in the middle of a patch is active psoriasis. The darker stuff around the light pink stuff should go away, but it takes time. The light pink stuff may require a topological steriods. I can give a picture and explain it better tomorrow some time

Ah, Biologicals - thats why it was a mystery. I was refused Bio's so its no wonder i havent heard of it

Still, i'm doing ok on Fuma. Its not in the MTX league for clearance, but i would rather be on Fuma. Besides, my Dermo lady said she would not put me back on MTx, so its a moot point anyways

Ok, thanks M. It means i just have discolouration at this moment in time. I'm expecting a flare up, ( dont we all ? ) but only a mild one. I'm sure many others are the same in getting it under control, but it seems 3 steps forward, 2 steps back, 1 step forward, 2 steps back, 2 steps forward, 1 ...blah blah blah

Great stuff, Bassman. Your consultant sounds excellent, so stick with her advice. I agree with the others here that your marks should disappear eventually, although it might be a fair while. At any rate it is fantastic that you can take the stuff with so little trouble. Fumaderm is a drug with good safety and evidence of long term efficacy. Stick with it and good riddance to mtx. Anyway, why on earth would a muso take a drug which stops him getting on the turps?

Cheers,

Bill

Yep Dovobet can be good if used properly but it can also cause a lot of problems.

I have a couple of places where the skin pigment is slightly different, but I also have places where there is no sign at all. It takes time but yes once you get clear it can start looking like your normal skin, especialy on places like your arms which tend to get more daylight.  Cool

Sounds like i just need some patience.

As for the turps, well i'm one of those musos that doesn't really drink. I'm not a teetotaller, i just rarely get on the sauce. I've still got 2 bottles of wine in my cupboard from 5 months ago, and the same amount of beers in fridge for the same amount of time.

Go figure ! Smile

To be honest Fred, Dovobet in both the forms i have it here, is one of those applications that are on my list of useless creams / ointments, of which there are many.

I've never had any results from it, and now according to the dermo, it may have aggravated the P on my leg, or done something to the skin.

Unfortunately, having it at the inside top of my leg means no sunlight for me.

Sad
