Anyone heard of being given statins by the derm to help psoriasis drugs? It's not me, but I heard about it today and was surprised because I've not heard anything about this before.
I did a bit of reading and it seems they can give you psoriasis or help it, all very confusing.

Yes I have heard of it. My dermatologist was pleased I had been prescribed them for high cholesterol and said they can help psoriasis, I never took them though as my cholesterol went down on it's own. So I can't confirm it does work or not, but yes I have heard of it not only for myself but from other stuff over the years.

They do not much for psoriasis or arthritis, however they do lower CRP (just covers things up).

It remains weird, that they just give statins to psoriasis patients, which apparently does nothing, and that they have so much trouble to for instance give DMF of which is well known that it helps and is even more harmless than statins. Ehh,mm, if statins are harmless then.
I have a book called: "the cholesterol hype", in it the uselessness of statins is discussed. You better change your diet and get more excersize (stupid word, can't get it right)

Satins are far from being harmless. If you want a conspiracy theory... CRP is one of the measures used for PsA. So if you can get there CRP lowered you can claim no disease activity when that is not true.

You're not alone and my native language is English.  s15

But whatever it's not worth doing to much of this.  Run

You don't need to take stains or change your diet to get cholesterol down, my body done it by itself and they couldn't argue with the blood results. So it's all myth in my opinion, as no one can explain how mine went down without statins or a change in diet or lifestyle.

You did what I did and ate food before test inside the window. Even some medications may effect that test. So it prolly was not high to start with
