People have families, jobs, bills, just life in general so unfortunately I haven't quite figured out the secret to avoiding stress.

But... having people who understand does help. You can't avoid the stress but it sure is nice to have a place where people understand. Looking forward to your updates Soosie

Hiya all
Today is a different day! My other half is fine and all tests were negative! Hurrah!  One lot of stress gone in the night! Lol.

If nothing else I am a realist and so am expecting its replacement in the not too distant future!  If I am honest a little stress does me good, its just been a little full on in the past few months.  But hey its life; have to take the rough with the smooth and how boring it would be if it was all smooth!  

Still no appointment through from Dermo so tomorrow he will be getting another call, lucky him - not!

So how is everyone else today?  Anything to report???

I'm so glad that you have had one stressful item removed from your stress list

Well Soosie for me it's all good my tablets are still working. I just have a couple of stubborn patches that I try to ignore and hope one day I will look and they won't be there some chance
But for me I have to report " nothing to report"
The weather is bright , my other half has to go in to hospital Friday to have parathyroid glands removed
After that no more stress  
Hope you get your dermatologist appointment soon.... Give them hell tomorrow

You never know Jim. Maybe one day they will just disappear! After all the little blighters appear for no flippin reason so why should they not disappear?????

Thanks for that. I am enjoying my trips into this forum. Never done it before for anything but this is quite important to me and I needed to get more information. I always think that people who have gone through or are going through something are much more informed and much more inclined to tell you how it is than so called professionals who haven't! Not that I am maligning anyone at all but I don't think you can possibly know what it actually feels like until you have been there!

I have one of my questions to put out there. Please don't think I am being dim I just want your thoughts/knowledge. As you know I am currently awaiting appointment to get started on Acitretin. I have had light treatment and I am currently using Diprosalic ointment once a day - which I now know I shouldn't be as I have been using this for 9 months and is why I am heading for Acitretin. However, last year I had a problem with the sun and was told in a Spanish hospital and at our local hospital on my return and my GP, that I had cellulitis and was treated for it, resulting in my first sick note for 43 years!! That aside, I know when I go onto Acitretin, if that happens before my holiday in June, that I will be sensitive to the sun. Does this mean factor 50 sun cream and covered up from head to toe and not out in the sun at all or factor 50 sun cream and taking care in the sun????

I really wish I had known about all of you before now because I think I would have made different choices than I did. Part of the problem is that I don't know which questions to ask in the first place and therefore just go with what I think. I maybe need to reassess that!

Anyway, I look forward to your replies.

Hi Soosie I don't want to rain on your parade.. Regarding the Acetretin as its a vey effective drug both Kelly (kh924) and Kat and many others here have been on it and can tell you about sensitivity and care in the sun...

What I can tell you about is my treatment .. No I'm not trying to persuade you, just telling you for your information ..... The Fumaderm tablets I am on have had me virtually clear as I have said before for over 3 years and I hope for many more the same,
But ok there are side effects at the start and it is not a fast worker but if it works it is really effective..

I have never shyed away from the sun since starting this treatment in fact I have never had my shirt off outside as much in all my adult life
(A) because I love the sun and
(B) the sun is good for psoriasis
I love to swim in the sea, and walk a lot but I have never been careful exept when on methotrexate

Now I know you have had trouble with the sun in the past so even if you were to get my treatment I would be inclined to use a high factor sun cream ..
But I wouldn't cover myself from head to toe, perhaps a pretty sunhat to protect your face
My treatment may be worth mentioning to your dermatologist

I'm sure you will get other advice re covering up on acetretin

Thanks for that info. I will discuss if and when I get my appointment! Am relieved about that. My feeling is that it is largely due to the Diprosalic cream even though I mentioned it at the time all the professionals said no it wasn't but my skin is very very thin there now; which is partly why I need to go on the medication. We go away in June and so I want to get it sorted in time as I definitely do not want a repeat of last year.

So I will wait and see.

I think it's something you'll have to discuss with your dermatologist (as to how much sun).

I was on Acitretin and told to get out in the sun. Of course that was in moderation.
