I'm eager to try this as my psoriases is slowly coming back and its hard to clear when it flares.Ive tried so many pills and shots but nothing seems to work.I'm even resilient to the topicals now.

Have you also tried the Canadian pharmacies? .... Although if anyone knows where cosentyx will be available I would have thought the manufacturer would know

That's a big fail Novartis.  Approval granted 21 Jan 2015 in the USA and you still don't know when it will be available to your customer.  Thumbsdown

How can they expect us as the patient to have confidence in them if they can't give us an answer as to when it is available, but then again I still can not get my had around the way your system works in the USA. It seems very odd to me that your insurance company says they have approved it, your government has approved it, yet Novartis say "Keep checking back"

Fred crosses Cosentyx off his list of possibles to try next and gets off his soap box.

Wormtail I'm very sorry that we couldn't give you an answer on Psoriasis Club, but it does look like in a roundabout way you have got one. Keep checking back or go for another treatment.

My choice would be find another treatment.

Yes I'm with you Fred I don't understand the American system.... It's not joined up
Often doctors prescribe ... Then insurer says no ... And now the insurer says yes and the manufacturer doesn't know where or when it's available
Good luck in your search and if and when you do get it do come and tell us how successful it is Thumb

From an article dated January 28, 2015:

"With the clock ticking on its first-to-market advantage, Novartis is already drumming up anticipation for the drug, which should be available in the U.S. within the next 5 to 12 weeks"

So although it was approved last month, it doesn't look like you can purchase it for another couple of weeks.  I would keep checking with the pharmacies you've called until you find one that has it in.

H Wormtail!

I am unable to get on here much. Sorry for my late reply. Im in the US too and as you know our healthcare system is terrible. Ive been waiting for secukinamub and brodalumab , whichever came out first, for a few years due to their ability to target IL17  and minimal side effects. I jimped on this the day after secu was approved only to learn i have to jump through many hoops. Even my dr didnt know where to turn because Cosentyx isnt available here yet. I ended up calling novartis in NY. They explained how it takes another 8 to 12 weeks in the us for a drug to be available here once approved. They told me to go to the site and have my dr fill out the form and they wil work with me and my dr trough all the steps. My dr called to let me know i have to come in, fill out some parts of the form and get bloodwork done so he can send it to novartis. Once i get that done the meds have to be mailed until pharmacies can stock it (great HC system right?). Anyway, my insurance didnt approve yet because they have no information on it ....yes, its true  Thumb .  Either way, Novartis will help us find a way. Im typing from my phone so please excuse any typos. These micro keys leave lots of room for errors   Clap .   Please keep me posted on your success as you wil probably start it before i do. I still have to find time to get to dr office to fill out papers and get bloodwork done...,and, to make matters worse, i hate needles  Confused . It will be awesome to be able to wear short sleeves im summer again instead of walking around like an astronaut  Bigarm .  Good luck and keep in touch!!

Good Afternoon Folks--
Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy has Cosentyx in there system for ordering. I called 844-267-3689 which is the Cosentyx Personal Support Line. They informed me that there is now a list of pharmacies that will despense this drug. I usualy use CVS Caremark but they claim they don't know if and when they will know anything but Walgreens seemed more on the ball. So get those perscriptions in before the mad rush.

Good Afternoon Folks,
Ive secured my Cosentyx from CVS Caremark Specialty Pharmacy. The first pack they are sending is eight 150mg Senoready pens for the first month (at the cost of 57,000USD with out insurance) and two 150mg Sensoready pens each additional month. The official list of Specialty Pharmacies that will carry Cosentyx are NO LINKS ALLOWED. Wish me luck

Good luck and do keep us updated on your journey with Cosentyx, as a new drug I'm sure it will be a great help to others contemplating using it and it will be interesting to read of your experience

Thanks for the update and link to Cosentyx link to speciality pharmacies

Wow that's a hell of a price for medication, is that the annual cost? And do you have to contribute copay ...I think you call it in the US
