Haha, and I don't understand this question. Is really meant using the two together?
And what do you mean that you can find no interaction.

If you mean influencing each other, I think they will not. The working area of both drugs is totally different.

If you use both treatments together there will be no problems with your health, but some drugs can have a bad reaction if used together and should be avoided.

I could find no problems with using Stelara and DMF at the same time.

Thank you all so much. You have given me such hope with tecfidera and my psoriasis. I was asking about the stelara bc i was not 100 perceny certain trcfidera would work for my psoriasis as it is missing 3 ingredients that fumaderm has. Now one more question can i expect any improvement before 8 weeks? Your input and help has meant so much thank you!

8 weeks:

Stelara improvement for Psoriasis I would say Yes.

Tecfidera Don't know as no one here uses it as far as I know.

DMF I'll let the the DMF Gang answer.

I'm not sure of the dosing regimen of Tecfidera. But there is no guarantee that you will get improvement in that time, but staying positive will certainly help trying to de-stress will assist the psoriasis I don't know about MS but talking with friends that understand can be worthwhile
And regarding the three ingredients that are missing I wish they were missing with Fumaderm as they do nothing
Can I ask what the starting dose for Tecfidera is and how you will be increasing the dose?
Also is your psoriasis bad at the moment ?
Jim

With Fumaderm they start on Fumaderm initial which are 30mg increasing to a maximum of six 120mg tablets a day
This link can be pasted into your browser and shows the dosing of Fumaderm and timescale
NO LINKS ALLOWED

If Tecfidera starts higher you may get a quicker reaction ... But be prepared for the side effects ( there will be some)

Added link Tecfidera dosing regimen for comparison
And noticed the starting dose is higher than Fumaderm

No offence Jim but you should remember that Tecfidera is not Fumaderm.

That information is good for people prescribed Fumaderm and it may help a little, but it may not be relevant for the use of Tecfidera which is what jmcarlo83 was talking about.

Sorry but it's just my opinion, and I wouldn't want our readers getting the two muddled up.

Sorry I'm not up on my DMF's and I could be wrong but as Tecfidera is a different trade name and not used for psoriasis, I thought it best not to confuse people as we are a psoriasis forum. shake

Hi and Welcome!

From the National Multiple Sclerosis Society webpage:

"Tecfidera® is an oral therapy contained in capsules taken two times per day. Tecfidera, formerly known as BG-12, is dimethyl fumarate, a formulation that was developed specifically for use by people with multiple sclerosis. A chemically related compound, called Fumaderm (dimethyl fumarate and fumaric acid esters), has been used at higher doses for decades in Germany to treat acute flare-ups of psoriasis."

So it looks like Fumaderm may be prescribed at higher doses than Tecfidera? Hopefully the Tecfidera will work for both and your doctor will find the right dosage for you.

Happy to see you here Smile
