Hi,
I've been recently been diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis in december at the age of 18 and i've had psorasis since 13. It has all hit me like a train and my life was ground to a halt. After my family saw how down in the dumps i've been they suggested this site. Where everyone seems lovely and informative since it's hard to find such an abundance of people all suffering with the same. So, after snooping around as a guest i finally became a member!

Well Winnie a big    to the club you are very young to be having these problems but the good news is you have found this place and need never feel alone, we are only small as Fred who runs the site will tell you friendly bunch.
We all support each other when we are having troubles and we share each other's joy when a treatment is a success. You say you have been snooping around as a guest. Well now you are a member there are a lot more off topic boards where we go for a bit of light relief away from psoriasis
May I ask what your current treatment is for the psoriatic arthritis. I don't know which joints are involved with you but you will find some interesting topics, and advice for PSA sufferers
Carry on looking and if you get lost or have a question just shout (post) and someone will get back to you

Welcome Winnie, glad you found your way here! There is lots of information here and definitely friendly people. It's a really good place to find out about treatments and things that are working for members here. This group is very supportive and understanding.

So nice that you have found our site.
We don't only seem friendly people, we really are like that, but you will find that also when you have gotten used to us. Despite our personal problems we also like to have some fun together. So I encourage you to mingle in.

Just like Jim says, you are very young for already having PsA. Luckily, more and more treatments that really work for that are becoming available.

Do look around and ask if you want to know something, there will always be someone with an answer for you.

Oh you have got psoriatic arthritis young    I know that feeling of being hit like a train and your life grinding to a halt, that's a good way of putting it when the dreaded psoriatic arthritis strikes.

Thank your family for the kind words and for pointing you here, you will find us a small but friendly bunch of people (had to get that in as Jim mentioned it) and there is always someone here to talk with so never be alone.

You sound like you have a supportive family and that is good news as it will help a lot, the only problem is that they can never possibly understand how you feel no matter how hard they try. And that is where we come in, we are people just like you there is no ulterior motive behind Psoriasis Club. You will never find Ads, Sponsors, Requests for donations, and you certainly won't find any trolls, spammers or cyber bullies here as it's my pleasure to kick them out of the door as soon as they are spotted.

Winnie just dive on in, we may not have all the answers but we can give support. And if you feel like getting away from psoriasis for a while but still be with people who know how you feel, I can recommend the Off Topic Board in the Members Only Section where you will find I'm the sensible one.

Winnie to our group you will find some very good people here who understands what you are going through.I feel bad that you have this disease at such a young age.There is no cure but but lots of treatments available.I myself got PSA later in life.The psoriasis I believe I had from a teenager and didn't know what it was.I was in the Hospital 5 yrs ago had issues with my potassium levels and they found that my kidney's weren't working properly.Then another time I had a abyss on my butt.Of all places it burst before they could lance it.I had an IV(antibiotic) in each a after that was when my Psoriasis really got bad.My Dr said because of the trama to my body.They took good care of me in the Hosp. I was there for 5 days.But I am an old woman compaired to you.Wish you good health.
